National Team: tomorrow at the Stadium the big clash with Denmark
It is the eve of the most eagerly awaited fixture for the San Marino National Team, who tomorrow will face Denmark at the Stadium in their eighth match of the EURO 2024 qualifiers. At the time of the draw, the Scandinavian side were the top seeds in Group H and tomorrow night they will be looking for another three points in a very tightly contested group (Denmark are top, level with Slovenia on 16 points, followed by Kazakhstan and Finland on 12). The Danes – captained by Simon Kjær, who tomorrow will become the most capped player in his National Team’s history – could already celebrate qualification by beating the Titani and hoping for a draw between Finland and Kazakhstan.
Back from last Saturday’s match against Northern Ireland, the Titani’s coach Fabrizio Costantini analysed tomorrow’s game in the traditional pre-match press conference: “We are keen to put in a good performance in front of our fans, even though we know we are up against one of Europe’s top national sides. We will try,” said the Head Coach, “to limit the damage and to try to play in their half of the pitch.”
Alongside the San Marino coach in the Stadium press room was Elia Benedettini, the Titani goalkeeper: “We are facing players we admire and that we see on TV in the biggest matches. It would be a great source of pride for us to try to stop them in every way we can. It will also be an honour to go up against a great goalkeeper like Kasper Schmeichel.”
Tomorrow’s match between San Marino and Denmark is scheduled for 20:45 at the San Marino Stadium (more than 3,000 spectators are expected), with live radio streaming on Titani.tv from 20:35.
