National Team, Romania arrive tomorrow. Cevoli: “Keep our usual approach”

Back from the trip to Cyprus, everything is set for the home debut – in a sold-out Stadium – of the San Marino National Team, who tomorrow face Romania in their second match of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

“It was a demanding away match,” commented the Titani Head Coach, Roberto Cevoli, at the press conference, “but the boys did a great job and, despite everything, I’m pleased. Weaknesses in Romania? Every team has them, even a strong side like they are. Our approach must be the same as always: courage and playing our game, as we know how to do. Even against prestigious and important teams like Romania.”

Also speaking at the press conference was midfielder Lorenzo Capicchioni, who played over an hour against Cyprus: “I’m feeling good, and so is the team. We’re recharging our batteries quickly ahead of tomorrow; the group is young and that helps us.”

As mentioned, tomorrow will see a sell-out San Marino Stadium, as on the biggest occasions. According to Capicchioni, this can be a positive factor: “A full stadium can give us a boost, as has already happened in the past, for example in the match against Northern Ireland. Romania are an excellent team, full of players who play in Serie A and Serie B in Italy. They will certainly want to bounce back after the defeat to Bosnia; it will be a difficult match, but we will also be ready to play our part.”

Capicchioni was also asked whether facing top players like those they will meet tomorrow could be a spur to attract interest from foreign clubs: “For us, these kinds of matches can also be a shop window. In the future, gaining experience abroad, in Romania or elsewhere, would be great because it would help us grow even more.”

Kick-off for the match between San Marino and Romania is at 20:45 at the San Marino Stadium – with live radio coverage on Titani.tv.
