Women’s U16 National Team: tomorrow is the big day. Coach Piva: "A joy to be part of all this"

For the Women’s Under-16 National Team it is the eve of a historic debut in an official match, and it is also the day when the training camp dedicated to the UEFA Development Tournament commitments kicks off, a tournament that will be hosted within the borders of San Marino. Tomorrow at 16:30 comes the first test against Georgia, at 16:30 in Acquaviva. The young Titane will then be back in action on Thursday against Estonia (again at 16:30 in Acquaviva) before rounding off their campaign on Sunday morning at 10:00 against Luxembourg. An issue affecting the national team of the Grand Duchy forced the tournament organisers to postpone the opening match between Estonia and Luxembourg, originally scheduled for 10:30 on Tuesday 16 April and moved to 13:30, on the same day and on the same pitch in Acquaviva. All six matches in the tournament, including this one, will be streamed live and free of charge on the Titani.TV platform. This afternoon Giacomo Piva led a short final training session. It was a chance to go over the very last tactical details, but also to immerse themselves fully in the atmosphere of the tournament. "Being able to represent San Marino with its first women’s National Team, even if experimental, is a powerful emotion and a great source of pride – said the Head Coach – for me as for the rest of the staff, and of course for all the girls. Maybe over the past few days it hadn’t fully sunk in, also because we played our last league match only on Saturday, but now we are fully entering into the spirit of this very important occasion, which we have been waiting for for a long time. And we feel very clearly both the responsibility and the joy of being part of all this. We have had very little information about the opponents we are going to face, Georgia included. For this reason we have prepared tomorrow’s match based on our own characteristics, focusing mainly on ourselves. We will face every opponent with the same determination, always trying to produce the best performance possible. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the FSGC for everything it has provided us with in preparation for this tournament. In particular, I thank the medical staff, who enabled some of our injured girls to recover in an almost miraculous way and be part of this adventure. We will do everything we can to make all those who support us happy and proud." Here is the official list of the 18 players called up:
