National Team: the Titans to face Slovakia in a June friendly

The international calendar for Roberto Cevoli’s Titans is taking ever clearer shape. After learning their UEFA Nations League opponents and confirming the friendlies with Saint Kitts and Nevis (20 and 24 March) and Cyprus (11 June), the next fixture for the San Marino National Team is scheduled for Wednesday 5 June. On that day Cevoli’s men will take on Slovakia in a friendly, with kick-off time still to be confirmed. The match will be played on neutral ground at the ERGO Arena in Wiener Neustadt, an Austrian city located 60 km south of Vienna. While this will be the first friendly meeting between San Marino and Slovakia, there are several previous encounters in European qualifying campaigns. The two sides met in the qualifiers for UEFA EURO 2008 in Austria and Switzerland and for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa, with four wins in favour of Slovakia. More recently, the Slovak side, coached by Francesco Calzona (new head coach of Napoli), secured their place at UEFA EURO 2024 and will make their debut in the tournament on 17 June against Belgium.
