National team: friendly against Moldova confirmed
A new international fixture awaits Roberto Cevoli’s Titans. It has been confirmed that on Tuesday 10 September 2024 San Marino’s National Team will play a friendly against Moldova. The match will be played at the Zimbru Stadium in the capital Chisinau, with kick-off scheduled for 19:00 local time (18:00 in San Marino). This will be Cevoli’s men’s second outing in September: a few days earlier – on Thursday 5 September – they will make their Nations League debut against Liechtenstein at home, at the San Marino Stadium.
There have been as many as eight previous meetings between San Marino and Moldova: the most recent date back to 2018, in the Nations League double-header with Franco Varrella on the Titans’ bench. The sides also met twice in the qualifiers for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, twice in qualifying for UEFA EURO 2012 and in two other official friendlies played in 2017 and 2000. The head-to-head record is entirely in favour of the Moldovans, with no goals scored by the Biancoazzurri.
