Paolo Rondelli UEFA delegate for high-risk Romania-Belarus clash
A high-profile appointment for Paolo Rondelli, selected as UEFA match delegate for this evening’s game between Romania and Belarus. The match – a qualifier for EURO 2024 – will be played at the National Arena in Bucharest and has been classified by UEFA as a high-risk fixture due to the sensitive situation linked to the war in Ukraine. In addition, Rondelli will be supported by Security Officer Dr Elisa Beatrice Cozza, Deputy Chief of Police in Florence and a recognised expert in the management of high-risk sporting events.
The match – kicking off at 20:45 – will be refereed by Dutch official Allard Lindhout in Group I of the qualifiers, where Romania have already recorded their first win against Andorra, while Belarus were defeated in their opener by Switzerland.
