Grassroots youth sector: spring activities set to kick off

Football activities for boys and girls up to the age of twelve are ready to resume, with youngsters involved in the various age categories as gatherings, tournaments and leagues get back underway. As usual, it will be the Under-8s who first take to the pitch in the new year. The youngest participants in the FSGC’s football programme will already be back together on the morning of Saturday 31 January, as always at the “Ezio Conti” Stadium in Dogana.

On the same weekend, the chase for the Autumn Under-12 title won by Juvenes Dogana will get started. Cailungo Azzurro will be looking to bounce back, as will Tre Fiori/Virtus – who came within a whisker of reaching the final of the opening tournament last December. The Blue Group, which will determine the two teams that will contest the title, will feature seven teams playing a total of fourteen matchdays. Alongside the three already mentioned, Cosmos 1, Folgore, Fiorentino/Murata and Domagnano/San Giovanni will also be on the starting blocks. In the White Group, which kicks off this Saturday afternoon, are the two women’s teams representing San Marino Academy, as well as Faetano/Libertas, Cailungo Bianco, Cosmos 2 and Tre Penne/Pennarossa. The start of the Under-10 competition will have to wait until Wednesday of next week (4 February, 17:45). As usual, the two venues of Fiorentino and Montecchio will each host three matches simultaneously.

The full fixtures for the San Marino Under-10 and Under-12 Championships, with the exception of a few matches still to be scheduled (in particular the midweek rounds of the Under-12 Blue Group), can be viewed on the official website of the San Marino Football Federation, in the section dedicated to the Grassroots Youth Sector.
