Titano Futsal Cup, the final will be Folgore v Fiorentino

Despite having already claimed strong wins in the first legs, Folgore and Fiorentino prevail again in the return semi-finals and duly book their place in the Titano Futsal Cup final. From the league – where they battle it out week after week with goals and victories – to the cup, the two sides have been the undisputed protagonists of this futsal season. Building on the 8-1 success in the first leg, Folgore also make the Serravalle derby against Juvenes-Dogana their own. Max Spada’s Giallorossoneri get off on the right foot and take an early lead through Mirko Giardi. Folgore double their advantage at the start of the second half thanks to Matteo Iuliani (39'), and a few minutes later the third arrives via an own goal by Alessandro Zonzini, who then redeems himself by pulling one back on 57 minutes. The exclamation mark on the match comes once again from Iuliani, who scores his second of the night to seal the 4-1 win. The other derby – in Fiorentino – is a much tighter contest between Michelotti’s Rossoblu and Alex Bugli’s Tre Fiori. Fiorentino go into the game with a two-goal cushion after their 2-0 first-leg win, meaning Tre Fiori have to go on the front foot from the very start. That is exactly what happens, as after just three minutes Danny Gasperoni beats Protti to put the Gialloblu in front. Fiorentino, however, refuse to buckle and immediately rein in their opponents thanks to Luca Zafferani’s equaliser (8'). Michelotti’s side – with their coach facing his former club – press on and move ahead through Daniele Maiani’s goal on 15 minutes. In the closing stages Fiorentino add a third, this time signed by Andrea Ercolani, but Nicolò Mariotti makes the defeat slightly easier to digest with his stoppage-time strike, which sets the final score at 3-2 to the Rossoblu. Fiorentino therefore return to the Titano Futsal Cup final after their triumph in the 2018-19 season; for Max Spada’s Folgore, holders of the trophy thanks to last year’s success, it is a case of déjà vu. It promises to be a showdown not to be missed.   Here is the full semi-final schedule for the Titano Futsal Cup: Click here for the tournament bracket.
