Titano Futsal Cup: Tre Fiori to face Folgore in the final

Tre Fiori are back in a Futsal Cup final after a five-year absence. Back then the yellow and blue side managed to lift the trophy, with Danilo Busignani also getting on the scoresheet. Next Friday, Bugli and his players will try to add a fourth cup to the club’s honours list, coming up against none other than Folgore and National Team universal player Busignani. Last night it was in fact the teams from Fiorentino and Falciano who emerged victorious from the semi-finals. In the first match of the evening, Tre Fiori edged past Juvenes-Dogana, one of the two group-stage leaders, who just like Folgore had skipped the quarter-finals by virtue of their ranking. The debut therefore did not go well for Zonzini’s side who, having missed out on the league play-offs, were forced to say goodbye to their 2021-22 season last night. Tre Fiori broke the deadlock in the semi-final relatively early: on 7 minutes Bugli’s men went ahead through Rossini. Then followed a long stalemate until the middle of the second half: there, in quick succession, Muccioli levelled the match and Gasperoni restored Tre Fiori’s lead, which this time would not be threatened again before the final whistle. As mentioned, Tre Fiori will face Folgore in the final. The giallorossoneri came from behind to beat Domagnano, who took the lead after just 2 minutes through Belloni. Falciano’s reply was lightning quick, needing only 1 minute to get back on level terms thanks to a right-footed strike from Bernardi. On 12 minutes Busignani was in the right place at the far post to turn in for 2-1, a scoreline that held until the brink of stoppage time. Domagnano tried everything to find the goal that would at least have taken the tie to extra time, while Folgore went close to 3-1, above all when the ever-dangerous Busignani struck the post. The Wolves, in the 47th minute, also had 2 minutes of numerical superiority following a second yellow card for Chezzi, but Folgore managed to protect their slender advantage and, in the closing minutes, banked the win with a simple tap-in from Felici, sealing a 3-1 victory that ended Domagnano’s dream and sends the Falciano side in pursuit of the second Futsal Cup in their history.
