Titano Futsal Cup: Perfect ten Murata, quarter-finals virtually sealed like Virtus and Pennarossa

Last night saw the first legs of the seven ties in the Round of 16 of the 2024-25 Titano Futsal Cup. There were few surprises for Murata and Virtus, who both claimed authoritative wins over Faetano and Tre Penne. The Bianconeri even hit double figures, with goals from Ercolani, De Angelis, Ghiotti (brace) and a rampant Busignani – who found the Gialloblù net six times in the 10-0 rout. The Acquaviva club built its victory at the end of the first half, after the early exchange of blows between Zafferani and Contato. Zafferani himself, together with Di Maio, secured a two-goal cushion going into the break. After the restart, the same 3-1 scoreline produced the final 6-2, confirming Zafferani’s hat-trick and adding goals from Cevoli and Pascucci. Di Cola scored Tre Penne’s second of the night. The ties Libertas-San Giovanni and Juvenes-Dogana-Cailungo remain more finely poised, also with a view to the return legs. The Borgo Maggiore derby went the way of the Biancorossi, who broke Libertas in the final ten minutes. Severi and Volpinari put their names to a crucial win for Franchino’s side, who will take an important advantage to build on in two weeks’ time. After a first half perfectly balanced by goals from Marinelli and Sarti, Juvenes-Dogana ran out 3-1 winners over Cailungo thanks to strikes from Celli and Borasco. One goal more was scored by Pennarossa, who handed Tre Fiori a 4-1 defeat. Two goals per half for the Biancorossi, who got on the scoresheet through Gasperoni, Toccaceli and Baldani. Samuel Toccaceli also missed a 10-metre free-kick, saved by Lonfernini. An own goal by Alex Maiani on 42 minutes knocked the wind out of Tre Fiori’s sails – just a minute after Tamagnini had halved the deficit. The tie between Domagnano and La Fiorita will be decided in the second leg. The first of yesterday evening’s two games on the Domagnano artificial pitch saw the Gialloblù edge it by a single goal, finding a last-gasp winner in stoppage time that will allow them to go through to the quarter-finals even with a draw in the return fixture. Having taken the lead through Morini, La Fiorita were pegged back by Vagnini before retaking the advantage moments before half-time through Pellegrini. Midway through the second half Filippo Dolcini levelled again, but parity slipped away – as mentioned – on 60+1 minutes, when Giuccioli struck to give La Fiorita the victory. Fiorentino, finally, will take a two-goal lead into the second leg to defend. Last season’s finalists went 3-0 up thanks to Paoloni and a brace from Geri – the goalkeeper fully involved in the attacking play beyond the halfway line. Cosmos pulled one back through Molinas, whose two goals were split by a strike from Paolo Casadei to make it 4-2 on aggregate.
