Tre Penne and Cosmos on top, first wins for Domagnano, Fiorentino and Cailungo

League Saturday delivers major changes at the top and the first wins for the three sides who, until the previous day, were propping up the table with a meagre haul of points coming only from draws: Fiorentino, Cailungo and Domagnano. In Friday’s curtain-raiser, Faetano “avenges” their recent elimination from the Coppa Titano BKN301 by beating Murata 2-0 and drawing level with the Bianconeri on 6 points in the standings. It all happens after the break: Kalemi’s free-kick shortly after the hour breaks the deadlock, and the Yellow and Blues then put the result to bed in stoppage time, when Eboli, released into open field by Ferrario, beats Manzaroli one-on-one, rubbing further salt into the wounds of a Murata side reduced to ten men in the meantime after a second yellow card shown to Fabio Vitaioli. One goal is enough for Tre Fiori to build on last weekend’s victory. That finished 1-0 as well against Pennarossa: if Tamagnini was the match winner then, this time away to San Giovanni the honour goes to Rastelli. It is he who, at the dawn of the second half, pounces on the rebound after Gjurchinoski’s shot rattles the crossbar and, with a header, bags the three-point goal that allows Andy Selva’s team to draw level with the “resting” Virtus. In the 15:00 kick-offs come the first wins of the season for Domagnano and Cailungo. The Wolves need barely a minute to find the opener: a cross from Fedeli and an awkward intervention from Bernardi, who tries to get there before Lago but sends the ball in the wrong direction and into the back of Mignani’s net. The start of the second half is also fruitful for the Giallorossi: this time it all stems from a short back-pass by Gattei Colonna, which Fedeli intercepts before coolly beating the onrushing Mignani, scoring the most classic of goals against his former club. Folgore throw men forward and Domagnano squander some gilt‑edged chances to make it 3-0. Then, on 90 minutes, contact between Crescentini and Santoni sends Sartori to the spot, and he makes no mistake. The game is back on, but there is little time left to salvage it. Still, Folgore give it a go, twice going close to 2-2 through another ex, Mami: first a brilliant reflex save from Colonna preserves the 2-1 scoreline, then it is the number 22’s lack of accuracy that proves decisive. In the end Domagnano can finally let out a cathartic roar for their first win of the season, a result that lifts them out of the boggy area of the table and up to 6 points, one fewer than their opponents on the day. Juvenes-Dogana are overtaken after losing the derby to Cosmos. As happened on Wednesday in the cup, it is Docente who puts the Gialloverdi ahead: it comes on 34 minutes, with the number 99 racing onto Savelli’s long ball and finishing with composure and precision past Gentilini. On 81 minutes Pastorelli settles the contest with a magnificent left-footed free-kick, while Juvenes-Dogana finish the game with ten men after a second yellow for Santi. Cosmos move temporarily clear at the top on their own, while Juvenes-Dogana are caught by Cailungo, who, as mentioned, celebrate their first win both in the league and this season. The Rossoverdi victory is built in comeback fashion: Pennarossa go in front on 39 minutes thanks to Ben Kacem’s sixth goal of the league campaign, the forward quickly bringing the ball under control in the box and smashing it past Elia Benedettini. After the break, though, Cailungo react: the equaliser arrives on 52 minutes from a floated free-kick into the area, with Biordi finding the Cuban striker in the middle, who only has to nod the ball into the back of the net. The turnaround comes just after the hour mark: this time Apezteguia turns provider, with a back‑heel that releases Zafferani in the box, and his left-foot strike, clinically precise, effectively condemns Pennarossa to a third straight defeat in the league, excluding the cup. The closing stages are played ten against ten after reds for Tomassini and Morri. Moving on to the 18:30 fixtures, Tre Penne win the big match with La Fiorita and claim top spot in the Single Group at the expense of the Yellow and Blues, while also drawing level with Cosmos, who had spent a few hours looking down on everyone else. The win for Ceci’s side – who also have a game in hand on their main rivals – is delivered by Imre Badalassi, on target just before the hour from a Nigretti assist. Finally, there is high drama in Montecchio, again in Saturday’s later time slot. Fiorentino, two goals down against Libertas, produce a stirring fightback that earns Malandri’s men their first victory of the year, even if it is not enough to lift them off the foot of the table. The Granata take the lead on 36 minutes through Aruci, whose right-footed effort surprises Berardi at his near post. The second arrives at the start of the second half, once again through Aruci, who applies the finish to a delightful assist from Olcese. The path appears clear for the Borgo Maggiore side, but that is not how it plays out. As so often in these cases, a single incident changes everything: and that moment comes on 62 minutes with Colagiovanni’s so‑called “Olympic goal”, scored directly from the corner flag. About ten minutes later, D’Addario’s shot‑cross loops over Savastano again to make it 2-2. That is still not all: riding the wave of momentum, Fiorentino need less than five minutes to find the 3-2 winner with a powerful surge into the box from Hirsch. Libertas battle to the very end to avoid their first defeat of the season, but are forced to finish with ten men, as Olcese, already booked, sees yellow again at the start of stoppage time. In the end it is a big celebration for Fiorentino, while Libertas see a run of three consecutive wins come to an end and lose ground on the leading positions in the table.
