UEFA Regions' Cup, first match for NAT San Marino in Bulgaria tomorrow
It is already the eve of the first match for NAT San Marino, who are competing in the intermediate round of the UEFA Regions' Cup. Tomorrow, with kick-off at 11:00 local time (10:00 in Italy), head coach Luigi Bizzotto’s side will face the Republic of Ireland amateur team in their opening game in Group 6. This morning the first official training session was held for the 18 players currently in Albena, a Bulgarian resort just a short distance from the Black Sea.
“The first impressions are positive,” said coach Bizzotto. “The group is highly motivated, and that is already an excellent starting point. Tomorrow we will face physically strong opponents in Ireland, but we are ready to compete. We are a well-equipped group, especially from a technical point of view. Today again I saw good things from the lads, as I did in the previous training sessions. We are determined and we want to do well.”
Defender Luca Angelini is feeling ready too: “The group is compact and united. We do not know our opponents tomorrow particularly well, but the staff will be able to give us the right instructions to approach this match in the best possible way. I expect a physical side, and we will need to adopt the right attitude.”
