Under-12: Juvenes-Dogana claim the spring title as well

The Juvenes-Dogana Under-12 side have done the double: in December they secured the autumn title, and on Saturday they repeated the feat by winning the spring crown. On both occasions it was Paolo Tarini’s Fiorentino who had to bow to Dario Sartori’s boys, who also dominated the regular season, finishing six points clear of Fiorentino. At the end of the autumn phase, the San Marino Stadium provided the backdrop to the triumph of the yellow-and-blues; on Saturday it was the Federico Crescentini in Fiorentino. The afternoon kicked off with a series of friendly triangular tournaments involving all the other teams entered in the Campionato Sammarinese Under 12. Then it was time for the title decider, refereed by Andrea Righi with the assistance of Elisa Cecchetti and Andrea Zaghini. Fiorentino, trailing in the Blue Group standings, needed to win at least one more period of play than their rivals over the course of the match. A balanced outcome would have favoured Juvenes-Dogana. The latter, however, chose not to take any risks, breaking the deadlock after just one minute through Samuel Mattei and doubling the lead shortly afterwards again with the number 41. Fiorentino pulled one back through Cristian Selva, but it was not enough to overturn the outcome of the first period. The second period opened with Juvenes-Dogana back in front thanks to Edorardo Gobbi, who converted from the penalty spot, but Tre Fiori reacted and got back on terms through Crudi, without however finding the second goal that would have given a different meaning to the third and final period. With one win and one draw, in fact, Juvenes-Dogana were already spring champions. Sartori’s boys nonetheless gave their all in the third period, which ended 3-0 thanks to a hat-trick from Nathan Sensoli. The final score was 6-2 on aggregate and a seasonal doblete for Juvenes-Dogana. Further trophies were handed out on the final day of the Under-12 season. Ambra Francini, a Cailungo player, received the individual "Fair Play" award; the team award went to the San Marino Academy women’s side. Finally, the three members of the match officials’ team were also recognised: Andrea Righi, Elisa Cecchetti and Andrea Zaghini.
