Under 12: Serravalle Football Academy retain the title thanks to Sensoli strike

The bare minimum was enough for Serravalle Football Academy to secure the maximum return. The Gialloblù of Cosmos 1, coached by Dario Sartori, claimed the Autumn title in the San Marino U12 Championship. For the football hub linked – as the name suggests – to the Castello di Serravalle, this is the third consecutive trophy, following the double achieved in the 2022-23 season. The match played yesterday afternoon at San Marino Stadium, in front of a large and passionate crowd, was one of the most hard-fought finals in recent years. So finely balanced, in fact, that over three periods of play a single goal separated the champions from the runners-up. The moment that tilted the contest in favour of Cosmos 1 was provided by Nathan Sensoli in the 8th minute. The efforts of a nonetheless excellent Tre Fiori/Fiorentino were not enough. After a goalless draw in the middle period, they still had a chance to be crowned Autumn champions if they had won the third and final period of the game by at least two goals. However, that phase of the match also saw defences dominate attacks, allowing the Cosmos 1 goalkeepers to celebrate a clean sheet in the most important and delicate fixture of 2023. It was a day on which all the teams taking part in the San Marino U12 Championship were fully involved: the nine sides that did not qualify for the title-decider played in three triangular tournaments before watching the match that brought to a close a calendar year packed with exciting fixtures, paving the way for a 2024 full of challenges and fun.
