Albani and Zoppis at adidas headquarters for the launch of the new kits
On 5 May 2026, the FIGC Deputy General Secretary Luca Albani and the FSGC Manager for the UEFA Kit Assistance Scheme project, Andrea Zoppis, travelled to Germany for an official visit to the adidas headquarters in Herzogenaurach. The occasion was the official launch event for the new kits that the iconic German brand has produced for the national teams of the football associations participating in the UEFA KAS. With federation delegates split across two days, on the Tuesday – together with the FSGC – representatives from Andorra, Faroe Islands and Kosovo were also present. Also on site were the UEFA officials in charge of the Kit Assistance Scheme project and adidas regional contacts for each national association represented.
In addition to a first look at the new kits of all the national teams involved and a tour of the vast adidas headquarters – a real city within a city – Albani and Zoppis were also able to visit the research and innovation laboratory, not to mention the homeground – a residence dedicated to teams that, when preparing for a match, decide to use the facilities and sports infrastructure in Herzogenaurach as their base. The adidas historical archive, with boots and memorabilia that helped change the way sport is played and interpreted, also proved particularly captivating. adidas has guaranteed full support for the development of the UEFA KAS project, something the FSGC had already experienced first-hand up to just under ten years ago. “After the extensive work and excellent results achieved in recent four-year cycles, the San Marino Football Federation is once again partnering with adidas – choosing to join the UEFA Kit Assistance Scheme for the 2026–28 biennium as well. The iconic “three stripes” kits will be worn by three Biancazzurri sides: the San Marino National Team, the Under-21s and the Futsal National Team for the next two years – and we hope to be able to associate this constant evolution in materials with unforgettable memories linked to this new skin,” says Andrea Zoppis. The kits will be available for purchase in the weeks following their official debut, scheduled for the international friendlies in June.
UEFA KIT ASSISTANCE SCHEME
Launched in 2007, the UEFA Kit Assistance Scheme supplies match and training apparel to UEFA member national associations, ensuring that their teams can take the field in top-quality kits that respect and reflect their footballing culture and history. Over the next two seasons, the national teams of Andorra, Belarus, Cyprus, Faroe Islands, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Liechtenstein, North Macedonia, Malta and San Marino will wear adidas – with unique, customised designs developed in close collaboration with each of the aforementioned national associations.
The UEFA Kit Assistance Scheme plays a key role in supporting national associations by funding access to high-performance sportswear tailored to their needs. Following a tender process that focused on criteria such as product quality and affordability, as well as kit customisation and a proven track record in similar projects, adidas was selected. The European football associations participating in the UEFA Kit Assistance Scheme will also benefit from adidas Locker Room, a service offering a wide range of solutions for the design and ordering of customised teamwear.
