ASCO35 claim the 3rd For Children Trophy in Sanremo
The Associazione Sammarinese Calciatori Over 35 also took part in the 3rd “Trofeo For Children”, played last weekend in Sanremo. The matches were held at the Municipal Stadium of the famous Ligurian town as part of a fundraising initiative in support of the Istituto Padre Semeria in Coldirodi, which looks after youngsters who, for various reasons, have been temporarily or permanently separated from their families of origin. There was a strong turnout from the public for the tournament, which was won by the San Marino side thanks to a solid overall performance. ASCO35 got off to a winning start in their opening match against Riva Ligure (2-0 with goals from Oscar Mina and Mykhaylo Tkachuk), while in their second outing the Titano team faced Sanremese, drawing 1-1 (goal by Daniel Francesconi for ASCO35). The match was then decided on penalty kicks, where the San Marino team prevailed thanks to saves by Paolo D’Angeli, who stopped two spot-kicks from the opposition. It was a very positive outcome for ASCO35, confirming the growth of the group and inviting everyone to join them on Saturday 20 June at 16:00 at the “Ezio Conti” in Dogana, where the seventh edition of the San Marino For The Children Trophy will be held.
