BKN301 Championship: Cosmos and Tre Fiori stay perfect and lead the pack
While La Fiorita await their turn, with tomorrow’s big match against Libertas on the horizon, Cosmos and Tre Fiori both win their respective early fixtures from matchday nine of the BKN301 San Marino Championship and move joint-top of the table.
In chronological order, Nicola Berardi’s side defeated Domagnano last night thanks to a brace from Matteo Prandelli. Cosmos broke the deadlock on 19 minutes through their striker, quickest to react in the box after a corner. The Giallorossi Wolves, however, soon found an equaliser through Kevin Zonzini, who, set up by Fedeli, slotted home precisely for 1-1. Domagnano were then reduced to ten men for the entire second half after Ferraro received two yellow cards, allowing Cosmos to take control and find the winner once again through Prandelli, who headed in superbly from D’Addario’s fine cross (55').
It took only one half for Tre Fiori to see off Folgore and secure a fourth consecutive victory. Andy Selva’s team went ahead on 35 minutes through De Falco, who first saw his penalty saved by Pollini but stayed sharp on the rebound to make it 1-0. Just four minutes later came the second: a swift move started by Gjurchinoski, who switched play to the right for Bernardi; his cross to the far post found Falzetta, who made it 2-0. Folgore failed to react to the double setback and thus slipped to a third straight defeat.
Tre Penne lose ground as they are held to a draw by Fiorentino. It was the Rossoblù, currently bottom of the league, who struck first in the opening half: a cross from the right by Dolcini found Moussa Tall, the centre-back brought the ball down and fired at goal, beating the entire light-blue-and-white defence, Migani included. Fiorentino played well and even went close to doubling their lead, but Ceci’s men pushed on and found the equaliser in the second half (67') thanks to Nigretti, who finished clinically with a diagonal effort inside the box. Tre Penne pressed hard in search of a decisive blow, but Fiorentino’s defence held firm to take home a precious point.
Climbing the table instead are San Giovanni, who edge out Juvenes-Dogana. Tognacci’s side still have yet to draw this season and recorded their fourth win in nine games. After a first half with few chances, Corinti stepped up on 41 minutes to liven things up with a precise right-footed strike into the bottom corner, leaving Gentilini no chance. As expected, after the break the Serravalle outfit left more space, and San Giovanni struck again: on 72 minutes a counter-attack led by Sartini, who squared for Bruma, the forward heading home to double the Rossoneri’s lead. Juvenes-Dogana, however, soon got back into it: an indirect free-kick inside the box and Merli picked out the top corner perfectly to make it 2-1. The goal was not enough, though, as Tognacci’s team held firm and even hit the post late on through De Biagi.
The remaining three fixtures to complete matchday nine are scheduled for tomorrow (all matches will be shown live with full commentary on Titani.tv): the big clash La Fiorita–Libertas (Montecchio, 15:00), Cailungo–Virtus (Fiorentino, 15:00) and Faetano–Pennarossa (Acquaviva, 15:00).
