BKN301 Championship: focus on La Fiorita-Cosmos and Tre Penne-Tre Fiori
Too early, far too early, for title talk. In the meantime, however, on the resumption of the BKN 301 Campionato Sammarinese, La Fiorita and Cosmos will meet on the same pitch and will be able to pick up some extra clues about each other. It is also true that La Fiorita already know plenty about Cosmos, having supplied the Serravalle club, during the last summer transfer window, with a large part of the group that for years had accustomed the Castello di Montegiardino to finals, titles and European campaigns. In short, it will be a showdown well worth following, between two of the current leaders (both still perfect), assigned to referee Barbeno and scheduled for Saturday on the Acquaviva turf. Also on Saturday, Virtus will look to build on the win secured before the break at Fiorentino’s expense: for the Neroverdi, at the “Crescentini”, the opponents are Libertas, coming off their rest day and still unbeaten so far, albeit not on maximum points. Another intriguing clash will be the one between Domagnano and Fiorentino, both still without a win – and without a single point in the case of Malandri’s side – and therefore more determined than ever to find the right gear to fix a league position that has been lacking up to now. The game that will open the weekend, however, will be none of these. It all kicks off tomorrow evening with Juvenes-Dogana against Murata, with the Biancorossoazzurri eager to return to winning ways after stumbling against Domagnano and La Fiorita, and the Bianconeri looking for confirmation after their victory over San Giovanni.
Pennarossa’s rest day does not only give La Fiorita and Cosmos the opportunity to move clear at the top. It also offers a tempting chance to overtake for Tre Fiori, although they face a tough opponent in Tre Penne, who currently find themselves chasing a group of teams only because they have already taken their turn to rest. Ceci’s men are in fact on maximum points from two games played, and with a third win they could not only leapfrog their opponents on the day, but also draw level with Pennarossa and whoever loses out between Cosmos and La Fiorita. It is undoubtedly the second most anticipated match of the entire weekend, to be played in Fiorentino and refereed by Andruccioli. In Montecchio, Cailungo are looking for a win that would allow Benedettini and his team-mates to finally put their two opening defeats behind them. In the last round, in fact, the Rossoverdi managed to bring home a prestigious result – a draw with Tre Fiori – but to really kick on they need a first victory, which they will seek on Sunday against San Giovanni, in a meeting where the Rossoneri, for their part, are hunting their first positive result after a run of three defeats in as many matches. No derby for De Biagi and goalkeeper De Angelis, both suspended by the Sports Judge. Still searching for their first win and first goals of the season are Folgore, who are keen to erase the 0-4 of the last matchday without delay. Lepri’s side need a convincing performance against Faetano, who have also failed to pick up any points so far and are therefore just as eager as their opponents to give their season a significant change of direction. Piccoli will referee.
