BKN301 Championship: La Fiorita flying high, Tre Fiori beaten again, San Giovanni stun Folgore
La Fiorita relentlessly continues to follow the same script as in the previous four league rounds: three points in the bag, clean sheet, and top spot in the table secured. This time just a single goal is enough for Lasagni’s men to take the full haul and keep their rivals at a safe distance. The scorer – unsurprisingly – is captain Danilo Rinaldi, who, after his brace that sank Cosmos, is again the match-winner in the clash with Domagnano, moving up to four goals in the scorers’ chart, one behind leader Ben Kacem, who will be in action tomorrow in the big match against Cosmos. As of today, the only side capable of keeping pace with the Montegiardino outfit, albeit with a game fewer, is Tre Penne, who themselves maintain a perfect record by beating Murata in the derby. In the first half, former Tre Penne player Ura replies to the Biancazzurri’s opener scored by Righini from the penalty spot. Then Pieri’s brace either side of the midway point of the half gives Ceci’s men breathing room, and they put the exclamation mark on the win on the half-hour with Dormi.
In Fiorentino, San Giovanni clinch an adrenaline-fuelled victory over Folgore, a second consecutive success for the Rossoneri after the one against Cailungo. But it is the Falciano side who strike first: Golinucci misses his first one-on-one with De Angelis but not the second, putting his team ahead on the stroke of half-time. And the ends of each half would become a leitmotiv of the contest. In the meantime, San Giovanni set things straight just after the hour mark thanks to Greppi’s long-range stunner – coming off the bench – which leaves Pollini helpless. Parity remains until the dying embers of the lengthy added time granted by Mr Kaddoudi: at 90+6’ it is another substitute, Sartini, who applies the decisive touch for a remarkable upset, lifting San Giovanni to 6 points in the table, level with Murata. Another 2-1 takes shape in Montecchio. There, Libertas remain unbeaten and hand Tre Fiori a second straight defeat, as the latter go two goals down in the first half – an early strike from Olcese on a Bucci assist, then Bucci himself doubling the lead after the ball comes back off the post – before trying to reopen it with De Lucia’s header from a corner, though it is far too late – in the 2nd minute of stoppage time – to mount a real comeback. Thus the Granata move up to 8 points and overtake Selva’s side, as well as Murata, while Virtus, currently just behind the Borgo Maggiore club, will have the chance to respond tomorrow in their match against Juvenes-Dogana.
