BKN301 Championship: Wins for Tre Fiori and La Fiorita, Libertas and Folgore Share the Points
More goals and entertainment in the three Sunday fixtures completing the opening matchday of the BKN301 San Marino Championship. Tre Fiori and La Fiorita keep pace with the teams who won in the early games (Virtus, Cosmos, Juvenes-Dogana and Pennarossa), bringing home their first three points of the year. Libertas and Folgore, meanwhile, play out a goalless draw on the Montecchio pitch.
Andy Selva’s side cruise past a Faetano team never really in the game with a clear 4-0 win. In the first half the yellow and blues go close twice: first Dolcini hits the woodwork after Magnani’s save, then just after the half-hour mark Tommaso Bernardi strikes the crossbar. After the break Fiorentino’s men cut loose and go ahead on 52 minutes through Falzetta from a Dolcini assist. A few minutes later Gjurchinoski doubles the lead, finishing from a Bernardi pass. The substitutions also work out perfectly for Selva as he finds the third from the bench: shortly after coming on, Nicola Della Valle delivers a cross from the edge of the area and Ciccione turns it in for 3-0. The rout is completed on 84 minutes when Michael Traini wins and converts a penalty.
La Fiorita also claim victory, beating Cailungo with a goal in each half (2-0). Midway through the first period the Montegiardino yellow and blues find the net through Vitaioli after a move from a corner, but Kaddoudi’s assistant rules it out for offside. The breakthrough does arrive towards the end of the first half: Bartolini battles with Iuzzolino in the box, the forward comes out on top and with a header beats new red-and-green signing Elia Benedettini for 1-0. Early in the second half La Fiorita double their lead with a moment of brilliance from a free-kick by Armando Amati, who curls a perfect set piece into the top corner (52'). Late on, Cailungo are also reduced to ten men when Ferrari is sent off for a second yellow card.
The only draw of the entire first matchday comes between Libertas and Folgore (0-0). In the first half the standout is Folgore goalkeeper Pollini, who produces two excellent saves on 18 minutes: first he blocks Mingucci’s effort with his foot, then, from the continuation of the move, he tips away Bucci’s header. Folgore also create a clear chance around the half-hour mark with a superb free-kick from Sartori that clips the crossbar. After the interval Pollini, the man of the match, is at it again, denying Pesaresi’s seemingly certain headed goal on 77 minutes to preserve the point for his side.
