Business Team: “Can sport foster winning relationships within a territory?”
With San Marino-Cyprus, the Biancazzurri’s final home fixture in the FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifying campaign, the Business Team event also made its return – the San Marino FA’s format designed to encourage and enhance networking among partner companies, clubs and collaborators. Once again hosted in the Prestige Room at the San Marino Outlet Experience, it engaged participants on the topic “Can sport foster winning relationships within a territory?” – through the sharing of insights and experiences by Enrico Gelfi (CEO and founder of EIS) and Valerio Mancini (Director of the Centre for Sport Diplomacy & Innovation Studies at the Rome City Institute).
Thanks to their contribution, a stimulating and well-attended discussion developed around how many athletes, through work that goes well beyond physical training, manage to become genuine icons for their local area, not to mention for the entire local sporting movement; and how sport – football in particular – is closely intertwined with geopolitical dynamics and diplomatic relations between countries. To round off the event, the San Marino FA organised a moment of conviviality and social interaction at Aperouge, shortly before guests and speakers made their way to the San Marino Stadium to attend San Marino-Cyprus.
