BKN301 Championship: Tre Fiori stumble as San Giovanni beat Faetano

Tre Fiori were eyeing a push for top spot in a round that saw Cosmos idle on a bye week and Tre Penne and Virtus facing off in a head‑to‑head clash. None of that materialised: Andy Selva’s side suffered a shock defeat to Murata, who had an early chance to go in front in the 13th minute – when Semprini kept out Gaiani from the penalty spot – and then did find a way to take the lead on 82 minutes, when Ura, picked out by substitute Comuniello, went through one-on-one with the Tre Fiori goalkeeper and beat him with a precise finish. It was his third goal in the last two games and it delivered Murata a second straight win after their victory over Faetano. Tre Fiori, instead, see their run halted after three positive results. By the same scoreline, San Giovanni beat Faetano in Montecchio. Here the deadlock-breaking goal came early: after 8 minutes Greppi set up Nicola Sartini in a position to beat Porcellini and the No.27 in red and black made no mistake. Faetano threw everything at avoiding a third consecutive defeat, and in the closing stages they also found themselves with a man advantage after Stefano Sartini was shown a red card (second yellow). It was not enough, though. San Giovanni saw out the 1-0 win and temporarily move above Fiorentino and Pennarossa, pending tonight’s games in which those two sides face – respectively – La Fiorita and Domagnano.
