League: five early kick-offs on the restart weekend, La Fiorita - Virtus on Sunday
Longer than expected, but the winter break is officially over – or almost. Tomorrow at 15:00 the Campionato Sammarinese officially resumes, starting again from the first matchday of the second half of the season, with the last round of the first half still waiting to be scheduled. After almost half of the regular season the Tre Fiori are looking down on everyone from the top, but with a minimal lead over Virtus, the closest pursuers and winners of the San Marino Supercup on Christmas Eve, precisely at the expense of Tre Fiori. Neither side, however, will feature in the very busy early programme, which consists of as many as five fixtures, all kicking off at the same time. In Montecchio, Libertas and San Marino Academy will both be looking to jolt their campaigns back into life, particularly Di Maio’s side, second from bottom and still without a win this season. The reverse fixture ended 1-1 and Libertas would need at least to repeat that draw to put an end to a negative run that has lasted two rounds. Today the Granata sit on 11 points in the table, the same as Faetano, who will face Murata in Fiorentino with the aim – for their part – of overturning a negative streak that has stretched to three games. Not that Murata are in better shape – quite the opposite: the bottom club are going through a deep crisis and badly need a positive Saturday to regain momentum, as well as to finally erase the minus sign from the points column. “New year, new life” is also the motto driving the thoughts of Cailungo, who take on Folgore in Domagnano after the latter picked themselves up right at the end of 2025 and are certainly not giving up on the idea of putting pressure on Tre Penne. The Città side have a three-point cushion over the men from Falciano and will be in action in Acquaviva to try to extend their winning streak, which currently stands at two. Fiorentino’s run is even better: they are the opponents of the Biancoazzurri from Città and in their last five matches they have not only taken maximum points every time, but have also not conceded a single goal. Domagnano are also enjoying an excellent spell, though they are determined to step up a gear after two consecutive pre-Christmas draws. The Wolves are unbeaten in nine and their hunt for double figures takes them up against a Pennarossa who have recently stuttered again after back-to-back wins. In this case, the stage for the contest will be the Ezio Conti in Dogana.
Sunday, as mentioned, will be the day the top sides take to the field. The league leaders, Tre Fiori, will travel to Fiorentino to face Cosmos, who before the break saw their positive run halted by a narrow defeat away to La Fiorita. The latter will be up against Virtus in the undisputed big match of Matchday 16, to be played on the pitch in Montecchio. The most recent spell of the season has been somewhat up and down for Ceci’s Gialloblù, who have alternated wins and draws perfectly. The champions’ path has been much more straightforward: in addition to their Supercup final victory, they come into this first outing of 2026 boasting a record of nine points from their last three games. The other fixture, in Domagnano, will pit Juvenes Dogana against San Giovanni, both coming off a mini positive streak: one win and one draw for the biancorossoazzurri, two draws for the Rossoneri.
Here is the schedule for Matchday 1 of the second half of the season. A reminder that all matches will be available live and free to stream on Titani.tv, while La Fiorita – Virtus will also be on FIFA+:
