League: two moments of magic from Lisi give Faetano a 3–2 win over the Academy

Five goals in the afternoon at Montecchio, where Faetano and San Marino Academy went head-to-head. Ricchiuti’s side made a perfect start, striking twice in quick succession through Brisigotti and Lisi. The opener from the Gialloblù marksman arrived on 12 minutes and owed much to a genius through ball from Palumbo: Brisigotti was able to unleash a powerful left-foot diagonal which Borasco could do nothing about despite the slightly mishit. Seven minutes later came the second, the product of an unstoppable run from Kevin Lisi: the captain drove forward from midfield with the ball at his feet before drilling a low shot into the far corner. The Academy, though, were anything but beaten and hit back through Marco Gasperoni, who did well to arrive in the box on the end of a brilliant bit of skill from Santi – who beat his marker with a ruleta before laying on a golden assist for his team-mate. The momentum was now with Cecchetti’s boys, who equalised before the interval: this time it was D’Addario bursting through on the right, exploiting a communication breakdown in the Faetano defence to pick out the run from Nicolò Sancisi – clinical with a low right-foot finish. After the restart, a wonder goal from Lisi – his second of the day – proved the difference between the two sides: the midfielder struck from thirty metres, almost from a standing position, picking out the top corner beyond Borasco at the far post and taking all three points back to Adrian Ricchiuti’s team after three straight league defeats. A single goal from Pari is enough for Libertas to get past Murata, who miss the chance to catch leaders La Fiorita. Sergio Grassi’s men – the coach was honoured as Best coach of September before kick-off – were the better side over the course of the match but failed to make their technical superiority count. Credit goes to the excellent defensive organisation of the Granata, who could also rely on the fine form of Del Prete – decisive on several occasions. Murata’s display was heavily affected by the sending-off of Petillo after the half-time whistle, punished for an off-the-ball challenge on Fabio Ramòn Tomassini. The Sammarinese winger was also sent off a quarter of an hour from time, but not before providing the assist for Pari’s match-winning goal – timing his run through the middle perfectly to beat Benedettini first time. Murata’s final onslaught, even ten against ten, did not produce the spark the Bianconeri needed to avoid their first league defeat of the season. At the “Federico Crescentini” in Fiorentino, it was Michele Nardi who stole the headlines. The Tre Fiori goalkeeper was the standout performer in Girolomoni’s side’s 3–0 victory. Crucial with at least three saves in the first half, he then provided the assist for Bernardi’s 2–0. Earlier, Matteo Prandelli had already found the net: the forward, who received the September MVP award before kick-off, took advantage of an uncertain outing from Batori to break the deadlock. Domagnano will regret failing to convert a penalty through Ferraro, whose effort was blocked by Nardi. For the former Santarcangelo and Cesena goalkeeper it was the second consecutive penalty saved, this time without the frustration of a successful tap-in on the rebound. In the second half Tre Fiori controlled the game without too many problems, and Rea added the finishing touch for the final 3–0. The defender met a driven cross-shot from Pini, took a touch and beat Batori from the middle of the penalty area.
