League: top-of-the-table clash Tre Fiori v Domagnano tomorrow

After the midweek Titano Cup fixtures, the battles in the Campionato Sammarinese resume tomorrow – with the third matchday spread over three days. The headline fixture will be Tre Fiori v Domagnano, also available on FIFA+ (within the DAZN bouquet). Girolomoni’s and Amati’s teams are playing for top spot, as – together with Folgore and Tre Penne – they are the only sides to have won both of their opening league games. On one side, reigning champions Tre Fiori, determined to stay on top; on the other, a Domagnano side aiming to recapture what slipped through their fingers last season, when they were just minutes away from a sensational qualification for the UEFA Conference League at the expense of Virtus. It will also be a direct duel between two high-profile strikers: Prandelli and Ambrosini are both on three league goals and four in all competitions this season. The big match of the round has been brought forward: it will be played tomorrow evening at the “Ezio Conti” Stadium in Dogana, kicking off at 21:15.

At the same time, Fiorentino and La Fiorita will also be in action. The Gialloblù are coming off the technical earthquake that shook the dugout and led to Ceci’s dismissal and, after three draws in as many outings this season (including a Super Cup defeat on penalties), they are chasing their first win against Monaco’s side. Molinari and his team-mates, after their opening victory over the Academy, have suffered two narrow defeats between league and Titano Cup against powerhouses Virtus and Tre Fiori.

The remaining six matches will be evenly split between Saturday and Sunday afternoons, all kicking off at 15:00.

Among Saturday’s early fixtures is an intriguing Virtus v Libertas: the Granata have come away with far less than their performances deserved and feel they are owed some luck after their Titano Cup clash with Folgore. The Neroverdi, driven by a battery of highly talented attacking midfielders, want to confirm the high standards their fans have grown used to in recent seasons. Also on the bill is Murata v San Giovanni. The new Antonioli era at the Rossoneri has yet to bear fruit: the aim is to reverse a trend that has seen San Giovanni beaten in all three of their games this season. The black-and-whites from Città have fared slightly better, inspired by Hassler in last weekend’s first victory. Rounding off Saturday’s schedule is Cailungo v Tre Penne: in Acquaviva, Bonini’s men will be looking to extend their winning streak and with it their place at the summit. Cailungo’s objectives are precisely the opposite, having lost all of their early-season outings and coming off a nightmare midweek against Pennarossa.

On that occasion, the Chiesanuova club claimed their first win of the season and on Sunday they will try to repeat the feat against Cosmos – who also won in the Titano Cup after collecting just one point from the first 180 minutes of league action. The clash between Rossi’s and Costantini’s sides will kick off at the “Federico Crescentini” Stadium in Fiorentino. On Sunday, Folgore will look to maintain their perfect record after the Castello di Serravalle derby against Juvenes Dogana, to be played at the “Ezio Conti” Stadium in Dogana. So far Ricci’s Giallorossoneri have scored eight and conceded none, looking very solid in this early part of the campaign. Camillini’s men are coming off back-to-back defeats between league and cup, after their emphatic opening-day win over Faetano. The upcoming local derby will certainly be an excellent litmus test for both sides’ ambitions. San Marino Academy will be out to keep surprising after producing high-level performances despite collecting just one point from two matches and – at least in the opening defeat – taking far less than they probably deserved. On Sunday in Montecchio they face Faetano – the only team yet to score and still without a point. For the Gialloblù this is very much a must-win encounter, roughly in the way Cancelli is expected to frame the assignment for the Academy.
