League: it’s La Fiorita-Virtus weekend

After the international break, the Campionato Sammarinese returns right on cue. The standout fixture of Matchday 6 is undoubtedly the showpiece clash between La Fiorita and Virtus, scheduled for Sunday afternoon (Montecchio, 15:00). The Montegiardino side top the table and, together with Tre Penne, are the only unbeaten team left in the league. The Gialloblu from Montegiardino also boast the best record in the league, with four straight wins. Virtus, the Neroverdi from Acquaviva, will be eager to bounce back and pick up precious points, three behind the leaders and coming off a defeat to Cosmos on Matchday 5. La Fiorita will be without Olcese following his red card in the last round – he is their leading scorer with four goals, the same tally as Virtus’ Buonocunto. Bizzotto may also rotate his squad with the Coppa Titano in mind, as his players will be back in action on Wednesday in a delicate tie against Cosmos (1-0 to the Neroverdi in the first leg). It is precisely the Serravalle club, coached by Omar Lepri, that will also be in action on Sunday against Domagnano (kick-off at 15:00 in Domagnano). The Gialloverdi are in good shape – three wins in a row – and are hoping for a slip from leaders La Fiorita to chip away at their advantage (they currently sit just one point behind the Montegiardino outfit). On the other side, Domagnano have not won since the opening round and are not in calm waters (12th place). Lepri will not be able to call on Marcello Mularoni, suspended for one match by the sporting judge. Rounding off Sunday’s programme is one of the many derbies within the Castello of Serravalle: Juvenes-Dogana and Folgore will lock horns in Fiorentino (15:00), both seeking confirmation and turning points. The confirmation, of course, is for the Falciano club, who are flying with four games unbeaten (-3 from the summit). Juvenes-Dogana, coached by Achille Fabbri, on the other hand, need to turn things around and change course, still chasing their first win of the season and with just two points collected so far. As for suspensions: Folgore will be without coach Oscar Lasagni for three matches, while Juvenes-Dogana will have to do without their captain, Michele Cevoli. Matchday 6, however, will kick off tomorrow evening with two fixtures scheduled for 21:15. In Acquaviva, Pennarossa and Faetano face off: Dolci’s Biancorossi have just one point and are targeting their first win of the season; Ricchiuti’s Gialloblu, fresh from victory over the Academy, will be looking to maintain their positive run. Almost a top-versus-bottom clash is the game in Montecchio between Murata and Cailungo: Grassi’s Bianconeri are in the upper reaches of the group and, after suffering their first defeat of the season in the last round, want to get back on track; it is a different story for Sarti’s Rossoverdi, who, with just one point – earned last time out against Tre Penne – remain stuck near the bottom. Murata will also be without Luigi Petillo due to suspension. Saturday’s menu features three more matches, all scheduled for 15:00. There is a derby atmosphere in Montecchio between the Gialloblu of Tre Fiori and the Rossoblu of Fiorentino. Girolomoni’s side are in good shape and sit comfortably in the table (7th place), while their “rivals” from the same Castello must deal with the resignation of coach Leo Acori. Fiorentino’s form has been up and down (they have not won since 21 September), but they are still only one point behind Tre Fiori. It is not exactly a city derby, but the clash between Tre Penne and Libertas is never ordinary. The club from Città and the one from Borgo Maggiore will battle it out in Fiorentino (again at 15:00), with valuable points at stake. Sperindio’s Granata are above Berardi’s Biancoazzurri in the standings, and their form is markedly different: Libertas have three straight wins (and have not lost since their opener), while Tre Penne have drawn their last three (four in total, with just one victory). Sperindio’s side will be without Fabio Tomassini – suspended for one match – while Tre Penne have no players banned. In Acquaviva, meanwhile, San Marino Academy Under 22 take on San Giovanni. Matteo Cecchetti’s Titani are still the only side without a point and remain bottom of the table. The Academy’s opponents are far from easy: after a difficult start, Tognacci and his men have found the right formula and have put together two wins in a row (driven by an excellent Augusto Garcia Rufer, with 4 goals and 1 assist). This, then, is the full schedule for Matchday 6 of the 2024-25 Campionato Sammarinese. We also remind you that all fixtures will be broadcast live, with full Italian commentary, on the Titani.tv platform:
