Campionato: Osayande hands Libertas a second win on the bounce
For one night only, Libertas join the leading pack, pending the Saturday fixtures involving the current frontrunners. The second consecutive victory allows the Granata to temporarily catch the group formed by La Fiorita, Murata, Virtus and Fiorentino, all on seven points. The Friday night curtain-raiser is anything but a fireworks display. Libertas find the decisive goal just after the hour mark with a header from Osayande, meeting a corner taken by Morelli. Beyond that, the game is extremely cagey. The first real scare comes right at the end of the first half, with Borasco denying Battistini’s close-range effort with his foot. After Osaynde’s 1-0 (his first league goal), San Marino Academy push for an equaliser mainly from set pieces: on 72 minutes through Alberto Riccardi (his first left-footed attempt is blocked, the second is comfortably saved by Del Prete) and on 80 minutes through Simone Santi, who tries to catch Del Prete out at the near post but is again thwarted by the Granata goalkeeper’s sharp response. That is essentially that: Libertas back up the win claimed exactly a week ago against Tre Fiori, while San Marino Academy are once more forced to postpone their first positive result of the season.
