Championship: long-distance duel, with an eye on the Super Cup, for Virtus and Tre Fiori
The final weekend of 2025 in the Campionato Sammarinese is approaching. Matchday 14 offers five fixtures on Saturday and three on Sunday, with Virtus and Tre Fiori leading the pack, separated by just one point. The Gialloblù (current leaders) and the Neroverdi might also consider some rotation with Tuesday’s San Marino Super Cup in mind, scheduled for 23 December at 20:00 in Acquaviva.
Virtus will be the first to take the field. Bizzotto’s side visit the “Crescentini” in Fiorentino to face Cailungo. It is almost a top-versus-bottom clash, with the Rossoverdi having collected just one point from their last five games and currently sitting third from bottom. Virtus will have to do without the suspended Elia Ciacci, but Bizzotto can count on a deep and high-quality bench to cover for the absence of the San Marino midfielder. League leaders Tre Fiori will instead be in action at 18:15 in Acquaviva. Girolomoni is reunited with his former club, Faetano, whose Gialloblù coached by Sperindio (another former Tre Fiori man) are coming off two straight defeats. Tre Fiori remain unbeaten and want to close out the year on top and without slip-ups. On the disciplinary front: Sirri will be missing for Tre Fiori, while Faetano will be without Kokeri (with Damato and De Biagi one booking away from suspension). Going back to Saturday’s 15:00 programme, Fiorentino will be looking to extend their winning streak. Costantini’s team have won four in a row – all without conceding – and on Saturday they face bottom side Murata. Also aiming to stay in the upper reaches of the table are Domagnano, currently third on their own. Amati’s Giallorossi travel to Montecchio to meet San Giovanni. It is a rough spell for Tognacci’s Rossoneri, who have not won since 26 October. San Giovanni will also be unable to field the suspended Mattia Zanni up front (with captain Boldrini one caution away from a ban).
Also in action on Saturday are San Marino Academy and Folgore (Dogana, 15:00). The Falciano side sit sixth in the table but have not won since 1 November. The winless run is even longer for Di Maio’s Titani (the only team yet to win a game in the league), but in the last round the Biancoazzurri earned a good draw against San Giovanni. Academy will also welcome back from suspension Mattia Ciacci. Alongside Tre Fiori, the other team still unbeaten in the league is La Fiorita, who face Cosmos on Sunday at 15:00 in Acquaviva. It promises to be an interesting clash, with the Gialloblù boasting the best attack in the competition (33 goals scored), while Selva’s side have not lost in the league since 28 September (2-0 against Virtus). There are no suspensions on either side, but several players are one booking away from a ban: Islamaj and Carubini for the Gialloverdi, Vitaioli, Nappello and Zaccaria for La Fiorita. In Montecchio, also at 15:00, it is time for the classic “cable car derby” between Tre Penne and Libertas. Bonini’s team, currently fourth, go in as favourites. It has been an up-and-down campaign for Buda’s Granata, who nevertheless occupy eleventh place, which would still be enough for a play-off spot. For the Biancoazzurri, Bonini will be without the suspended Filippo Berardi. The clash between Tre Penne and Libertas will also be streamed live on FIFA+. The game in Fiorentino between Juvenes Dogana and Pennarossa is expected to be a tight affair. Kicking off at 15:00, the two sides are level in mid-table on 17 points. Ricchiuti’s Biancorossi will be without the suspended Grieco, while Boldrini must keep an eye on the cautioned Gaiani, Pedini and Gianmaria Borghini.
