Championship: Tre Fiori eye the title, last chance for Virtus

Matchday 29 of the Campionato Sammarinese kicks off tomorrow with three key clashes in the play-off race, all scheduled for 15:00. Bottom side Murata travel to Montecchio to face Fiorentino who, after last week’s defeat, must get back to winning ways to secure direct access to the play-offs. At the same time, Pennarossa and Juvenes-Dogana will do battle in Acquaviva: the former come into the game on the back of three consecutive wins, while Boldrini’s side have not taken all three points for over a month. A Pennarossa victory would see the two teams level on points, while a defeat could prove fatal for the latter. In fact, should San Giovanni also win, they would officially be out of contention. The Rossoneri face Domagnano, also at 15:00 but on the synthetic pitch in Domagnano, with Giallorosso marksman Bonetti determined not to miss the chance to win the top scorers’ chart (22 goals, one more than Tre Fiori’s Prandelli). This match will be broadcast live also on FIFA+.

The following day the battle for top spot heats up. Five matches will kick off simultaneously at 15:00, with Tre Fiori aiming to be crowned champions, should Virtus slip up – the Neroverdi are obliged to win if they want to keep their title hopes alive. In Dogana the league leaders take on Faetano, who are coming off a win against Fiorentino but are already certain of missing out on the play-offs. Virtus, meanwhile, face Cailungo in Acquaviva, with the Rossoverdi having failed to pick up a point since early February. In Domagnano, La Fiorita meet Cosmos: the former, level on points with Folgore, can feel comfortable between fourth and fifth place, while the latter must play their last cards to catch Fiorentino. Moving to Montecchio, Libertas take on Tre Penne, third and five points off the summit, and all but out of the title race. Buda’s Granata will also be chasing victory to secure, mathematically, their place in the preliminary play-off round. The matchday concludes with Folgore–San Marino Academy, once again in Fiorentino at 15:00: the Giallorossoneri are targeting fourth place, while a win for the Titani – already out of the post-season and without a victory since early March – would give Di Maio’s youngsters a much-needed morale boost.
