The chase for the UEFA Regions’ Cup begins: press conference today, matches kick off tomorrow
The 13th edition of the UEFA Regions’ Cup, the continental tournament for regional or national amateur representative teams, raises the curtain with the introductory press conferences. Today at midday the coaches of the teams drawn in Group B spoke, while half an hour later it was the turn of the four managers in charge of the selections in Group A – including San Marino.
“First of all, I would like to extend the warmest welcome to all delegations, including those who took part in the earlier press conference, because as the host team I feel it is right to thank them for being here,” began Luigi Bizzotto, head coach of NAT San Marino. As far as we are concerned, we are absolutely delighted to have reached the final tournament of the UEFA Regions’ Cup – it is the very first time ever for San Marino and of course this fills us with pride. We know we may face some difficulties, because we will be up against football cultures that are truly at the cutting edge (the regional representative teams of Serbia, Spain and Czechia share the group with the Biancazzurri, ed.). However, we are aware of our resources and what our qualities are: our hope is to be able to show them to the fullest in the matches ahead of us. While it is true that San Marino is a small state, it can count on a big heart and pride in abundance. I hope we will be able to bring all of this onto the pitch, against some very strong teams.”
The match schedule will kick off tomorrow at the Montecchio and Acquaviva stadiums, with four games per day (23, 25 and 28 June). NAT San Marino will always play on the artificial pitch in Acquaviva at 21:30, with Vojvodina their first opponents. The other kick-off time, at the same venues, is 18:00. In both Italy and San Marino, all twelve group-stage matches and the final that will award the UEFA Regions’ Cup will be broadcast live and free of charge on Titani.tv. To watch the matches, it will be sufficient to register on the FSGC’s OTT platform.
