Chiarabini and Sapucci at UEFA Share on talent identification and development
Carlo Chiarabini and Valter Sapucci also took part in the UEFA Share seminar “Elite Youth Football – Scouting and talent identification” held in Belgium from 5 to 7 May, attended by representatives of sixteen European federations. In the splendid setting of the Belgian Federal Centre in Tubize (not far from Brussels), leading UEFA experts coordinated activities focused on sharing best practice in the field of identifying and developing talented young footballers. Particular emphasis was placed on the need for strong sensitivity when assessing each player’s potential. The two FSGC delegates present – Head of Coach Education Carlo Chiarabini and Technical Committee member Valter Sapucci – presented the San Marino model as an example in terms of the organisation of youth national teams. The Belgian federation then outlined its own talent identification system and the use of the most modern data tracking technologies, designed to support the final assessments made by those in charge. It was a useful workshop full of interesting ideas, which can be explored further to continue improving the development pathway of young San Marino players.
