Conference League: San Marino places to be decided on 17 and 24 May

The San Marino Football Federation has confirmed the schedule for the 2024-25 Campionato Sammarinese post-season and set the date for the Coppa Titano final. The oldest trophy in San Marino football, which will reveal its two finalists on Wednesday evening, will be awarded on 24 May at the San Marino Stadium. The last match of the season will kick off at 20:45, with – in addition to the Coppa Titano – a place in the Qualifying phase of the next UEFA Conference League also at stake.

The post-season of the Campionato Sammarinese, involving the teams that finish between second and eleventh place in the regular season, will get underway on 30 April. That date has been set for the Preliminary Round, played as a single-leg tie. The bottom four sides in the play-off bracket will meet at 20:45, with the higher-placed team from the regular season advancing to the Quarter-finals in the event of a draw at the final whistle.

From the Quarter-finals, the race for the Conference League spot will involve the other six teams: the second- and third-placed sides from the regular season will face the two winners from the Preliminary Round (the better-ranked of the two will meet the third-placed team). The other pairings have already been set, with the fourth and fifth meeting the seventh and sixth in the table respectively. Unlike the Preliminary Round, from this stage of the bracket onwards the ties will be played over two legs, home and away, with the higher-ranked team guaranteed to progress if the aggregate score is still level after the second leg. The first legs of the Quarter-finals will be played on 3-4 May (two matches per day, scheduled for 15:00 and 17:30 or 18:15). The second legs will be played on 6-7 May, kicking off at 20:45.

The same format applies to the Semi-finals, where the play-off bracket is structured so that the second- and third-placed sides – or any team that may have knocked them out – cannot meet before a potential appearance in the final. The ties will be played on 10 and 13 May, with first-leg kick-offs at 17:30 and 18:15, and the second legs scheduled for 20:45.

The two finals are the only Campionato Sammarinese play-off matches that may go to extra time (as happened last year in Tre Penne-Murata) and, if necessary, a penalty shoot-out. The showpiece final will be staged at the San Marino Stadium on 17 May, with kick-off at 20:45. Earlier the same day, at 16:00 and at another venue, the teams involved in the fourth/fifth place play-off will also be in action.
