Coppa Titano BKN301, first leg of the semi-finals: valuable wins for Virtus and Tre Penne

Wins with a view to the final for Virtus and Tre Penne. In last night’s first legs of the Coppa Titano BKN301 semi-finals, Luigi Bizzotto’s Neroverdi and Stefano Ceci’s Biancazzurri fully earned their victories and can now see the road to the final showpiece getting shorter. In Acquaviva, Virtus comfortably defeat Folgore 3-0. The first half is dominated by the team in green and black, who take the lead as early as the 7th minute thanks to a penalty converted by Ivan Buonocunto. Before the break, Virtus produce a fine team move with the ever-influential Buonocunto conducting play from deep: Angeli then picks out Alessandro Golinucci with an excellent through ball and, one-on-one with Pollini, he makes no mistake for 2-0. At the start of the second half Bizzotto’s men add a third: a cross from Castiglioni finds the head of Angeli, who nods in for 3-0. Folgore attempt a reaction and shortly afterwards a goal by Urbinati is disallowed for offside. The biggest chance for Lepri’s side arrives in the 87th minute, when Sartori has the opportunity to pull one back from the spot ahead of the return leg, but his powerful right-footed effort flies over the bar. As mentioned, Tre Penne also win, overcoming rivals Libertas 2-0 in the match played in Dogana. The deadlock is broken midway through the first half by Gai: Badalassi does well to keep possession alive and from the by-line manages to cut the ball back for the Biancazzurri captain, who beats Zavoli for 1-0. Ceci’s men double their lead at the start of the second half with a splendid move begun by Dormi, who finds Badalassi; the ball is then worked to Gai, who plays a first-time pass to send Dormi clean through, and he keeps his cool to slot past the goalkeeper for a 2-0 Tre Penne lead.   There is news also from the Campionato Sammarinese BKN301: due to the unavailability of the Montecchio and Fiorentino facilities, the matches of the 17th matchday of the Campionato Sammarinese BKN301 scheduled to be played at these grounds will undergo the following changes: on Saturday 28 January, Tre Penne v Cailungo will be played in Dogana at 18:00, while Pennarossa v Murata will be played in Acquaviva at 18:00.
