Coppa Titano BKN301: second legs of the last 16 and first verdicts tomorrow

With matchday six of the league now in the books, attention turns back tomorrow to the Coppa Titano BKN301. The second legs of the round of 16 will be decisive, delivering the first eliminations from the competition and, naturally, revealing who will move on to the quarter-finals. As has been the format for several years now, if the aggregate score is level after both legs, the tie will go to extra time and, if needed, a penalty shoot-out.   Among tomorrow’s fixtures, the tie between Murata and Faetano resumes from the 3-1 first-leg lead held by the Gialloblù. Girolomoni’s side had a league weekend off, while Sarti’s men suffered a second consecutive defeat with Saturday’s 4-1 loss to Folgore. The winners of this tie will face either Folgore or San Giovanni. It is a different story here, as the first leg at the Ezio Conti Stadium in Dogana finished 0-0. It is therefore a wide-open, finely balanced contest, all the more so considering the current form of the two teams: Tognacci’s Rossoneri come into it on the back of three straight league wins, while Lepri’s side have taken six points from their last three (their only league defeat in that spell came precisely against San Giovanni).   Tuesday’s programme concludes with what is probably the least uncertain tie in terms of progression to the quarter-finals: La Fiorita-Fiorentino restarts from the 5-0 advantage for the Gialloblù from Montegiardino. They do come into it off their first defeat of the season, against Virtus last Friday, but with a five-goal cushion and a Fiorentino side with just a single league point – and the worst defensive record – it would be a real surprise if Lasagni’s men were not to book their place in the last eight. Whoever advances between La Fiorita and Fiorentino will meet the winners of Libertas-Domagnano, to be played on Wednesday evening in Domagnano. In the first leg it was the Granata who celebrated, thanks to Costa’s goal and a Parma own goal in a 2-0 victory. The Borgo Maggiore club seem to have found the right formula and remain unbeaten across league and cup; it is a different scenario for the Giallorossi Wolves, who are still chasing their first win of the season.   In the bottom half of the draw, attention turns to Wednesday’s big match, Pennarossa-Tre Penne. The first leg ended 0-0, a rare outcome for two sides with such an attacking mindset. The team from Città saw a run of four consecutive league victories halted in Sunday’s draw with Juvenes-Dogana, while the Chiesanuova outfit, after a powerful start to the campaign, have slipped to defeat in each of the last two weekends. Whoever goes through to the quarter-finals will meet the winners of the tie between Cailungo and Juvenes-Dogana, scheduled for Wednesday in Fiorentino. Here the action resumes from a narrow 2-1 lead for Manuel Amati’s side, who in the league came within a whisker of beating Tre Penne. The Rossoblù, meanwhile, are still without a win this season. Rounding off Wednesday night is another high-profile clash: Virtus-Cosmos. In Dogana, a must-watch encounter awaits between Luigi Bizzotto’s Neroverdi, in excellent form and buoyed by last Friday’s win over La Fiorita, and Nicola Berardi’s Gialloverdi, who sit second in the league table, level on points with Virtus and Tre Penne. The first leg was decided by a goal from Ivan Buonocunto – will that be enough for the Neroverdi to reach the quarter-finals? The winners of this blockbuster tie will face Tre Fiori in the next round, with the holders already qualified by virtue of their status as defending champions. All seven Coppa Titano fixtures kick off at 20:45 and will be streamed live on Titani.tv.   Here is the full schedule for the second legs of the Coppa Titano BKN301 round of 16:
