Coppa Titano: second legs of the Round of 16 kick off tomorrow

The Coppa Titano takes centre stage again tomorrow evening with the second legs of the Round of 16, scheduled between Tuesday 27 and Wednesday 28 October. After September’s first legs, the fourteen teams still in contention are battling for a place in the quarter-finals, with several ties still finely poised. If the aggregate score is level at the end of the 90 minutes, two 15-minute periods of extra time will be played. Should the deadlock persist, a penalty shoot-out will decide which teams advance to the quarter-finals.

Three matches will open the programme tomorrow evening, all kicking off at 20:45. In Acquaviva, Cosmos start from their 1-0 win over San Giovanni and will look to protect that advantage to continue their run in the competition, buoyed also by their good league form. The situation is more complicated for the Rossoneri, who must overturn the result to stay alive in the cup. It is finely balanced too in the tie between Juvenes Dogana and Tre Penne, to be played in Montecchio, with the Biancoazzurri 2-1 up after the first leg. It is a slender cushion for Bonini’s side, who will need to defend their lead against a Juvenes Dogana determined to make amends for a particularly difficult start to the league campaign. The third clash on Tuesday at the “Ezio Conti” Stadium in Dogana pits Cailungo against Pennarossa. The Biancorossi bring with them a clear 3-0 first-leg victory and have the chance to build on the positives shown in that encounter, while the Rossoverdi are facing a real uphill task if they are to get back into the qualification battle. The Gialloblù, last season’s runners-up, will try to defend their narrow lead, but the Rossoblù still have ninety minutes to attempt a comeback and book their place in the next round. Folgore, in Montecchio, will meanwhile resume from the 2-0 they claimed in the first leg against Libertas. The Giallorossoneri, one of the most convincing sides at the start of this league season, sit top of the table after their win in the last round precisely against the club from Città. They will aim to finish the job and continue their journey in the cup as well. The Granata, for their part, will need a big performance to overturn the two-goal deficit. The situation is also favourable for Virtus, who, after their 3-0 victory over Murata, can manage a healthy lead in the return leg to be played at the “Federico Crescentini” in Fiorentino. The Neroverdi, still unbeaten in the league and coming off four wins in a row, start as favourites, while Murata will have to produce a display of real character just to inject some life into their season. Rounding off the programme is the meeting between Faetano and Domagnano, which will also be broadcast on FIFA+ and played at the “Ezio Conti” Stadium in Dogana. The Giallorossi go into the second leg with a 3-1 first-leg victory, a result that gives them a significant advantage. For Faetano, still chasing their first league win of the season, the cup could be an opportunity to change course and rebuild confidence, even if a comeback will require a high-level performance.
