Coppa Titano: three draws in Wednesday's fixtures, Murata make no mistake
Three draws from four matches on Wednesday night in the 2025-26 Coppa Titano. In the first legs of the Round of 16, only Murata manage to claim a win (2-0 against Faetano), while the other three ties finish all square and leave everything to be decided in the return legs – scheduled in about a month’s time.
We start with Murata who, thanks to their 2-0 victory over Faetano, have one foot in the next round. The evening, however, does not begin well for the Bianconeri, as after just a few minutes Salemme is denied by Venturini from the penalty spot. Camillini’s side do eventually break the deadlock at the start of the second half through Bello, sharpest in the six-yard box after Theo’s pinpoint corner. The second arrives late on (87’) when Cirillo pounces on a loose ball and from inside the area unleashes a powerful right-footed strike that gives Venturini no chance. To make matters worse for Faetano, in stoppage time they also suffer the sending-off of Morgante for a second yellow card. The Gialloblù will need something special in the second leg if they are to overturn the tie.
There is little to excite in what, on paper, was a clash rich in technical quality. Folgore and La Fiorita play out a goalless draw in Dogana, leaving everything open for the return leg. Chances are scarce in the first half, with a little more to report after the break. The first real opportunity comes on 70 minutes when Mazzotti fails to make the most of a good ball from the right; the loose ball falls to Barretta, who controls well inside the six-yard box but, instead of shooting, opts for a header that sails over. Folgore reply shortly afterwards with a header from Fall, but Vivan makes the save. The final chance falls to La Fiorita, as Cicarelli tries his luck from distance with his right foot and sends the ball just wide. It finishes 0-0 in Dogana.
It is an entertaining and evenly balanced encounter in Acquaviva between Tre Fiori and Pennarossa. The first half belongs clearly to the Gialloblù, who duly take the lead on 33 minutes: superb work from Benedettini on the by-line as he beats a couple of opponents before cutting the ball back for Sami, who finishes precisely from the edge of the box for 1-0. Benedettini causes more panic at the end of the half when his cross comes back off the post, and Filippo Santi is then needed to spare his side further damage. During the interval, however, Pennarossa change face, with Ricchiuti making as many as four substitutions. The move pays off for the former Rimini and Catania player, as the equaliser comes from the bench. On 54 minutes, Zahir finds Dulcetti with a ball in from the flank; he brings it down brilliantly and finishes even better with his left to make it 1-1. The closing stages are breathless. Within the space of a minute, Biancorossi goalkeeper Manuel Filippo Tordella is decisive, pulling off a double save from Bernardi – in two separate situations – to keep his side level. Pennarossa are not content to sit back and, shortly afterwards (86’), they have the chance to go in front when Angelini lays the ball off for Gregori, who shoots from the edge but misses the target. In the end, the match finishes 1-1, leaving qualification wide open for both sides.
Goals, entertainment and another draw in Montecchio between Juvenes-Dogana and Fiorentino. The deadlock is broken on the half-hour mark with a penalty converted by Evaristi to put Costantini’s Rossoblù – the big former figure in this fixture – ahead. Before the interval, Fiorentino manage to double their advantage: this time Evaristi starts the move which ends with Belward driving forward with the ball at his feet before unleashing a precise right-footed strike from the edge of the area that beats Matteo Battistini. Juvenes-Dogana react after the restart and pull one back early in the half (52’) through Aprea. The former San Giovanni man, introduced at half-time, makes the most of Nicola Sartini’s assist and stretches to beat Battistini to the ball. As well as conceding, Fiorentino also have to cope with Cucchi’s second yellow card, which leaves them down to ten men on 62 minutes. With the extra man, the Dogana side push on and it takes a miraculous save from Benedettini to keep Fiorentino in front. But on 87 minutes, Juvenes-Dogana’s forcing is rewarded with the equaliser. Another substitute – this time Pedini – is key in providing the assist for Gianmaria Borghini, who meets it with a first-time right-footed volley that beats Benedettini and seals the final 2-2 scoreline.
