Futsal Championship - 13 September 2026

New Futsal season kicks off tomorrow

Everything is in place for the return of the Campionato Sammarinese di Futsal. Just over 24 hours before the first kick-off, anticipation is growing for a new season that promises to be finely balanced and full of new developments. This year, in fact, there will be a new format for access to the play-offs.

At the end of the regular season, only the top eight teams in the table will qualify directly for the post-season. A change that is set to make every single result, and every point gained, even more important.

The season will get under way tomorrow evening, Monday 14 September, with five matches, with the rest of the matchday to be completed over the following evenings. The first fixture is scheduled for 20:15 at the Domagnano Stadium, where reigning Sammarinese champions Murata will face Folgore.

The Bianconeri approach the new season with a revamped squad and a new head coach, with many changes to the group that lifted the title last season. Up against them will be a Folgore side which, after a particularly positive end to last season, has also opted to start again with a new coach and several new signings, just like their opponents. It promises to be a clash that will immediately pit against each other two teams required to find new balances.

Also at the Domagnano Stadium, at 21:45, it will be the turn of Libertas v Cailungo. The Granata arrive with renewed ambitions after bringing in high-profile players such as international Matteo Moretti, Sammarinese champion in the last two seasons with Murata, who is tasked with raising once again the expectations of the Borgo Maggiore club. On the other side, Cailungo have confirmed almost all of last season’s group and continue with the same project launched a year ago: the same coaching staff and a very young squad.

At the same time on the Fiorentino pitch, two more games will be played at the same kick-off times. At 20:15 it will be Faetano v Tre Penne. The Biancoazzurri, fresh from third place last season, start again with a squad largely retained and supplemented by a few carefully chosen reinforcements selected by the new coach. Their clear objective will be to get back into the title race.

The 21:45 match will instead see last season’s runners-up, Virtus, take on Cosmos. Two similar yet opposite situations: Virtus have confirmed their captain, former international Fabio Belloni, and head coach Michelotti, who are ready to be the reference points for one of the youngest sides in our league. Cosmos, for their part, also continue with last season’s coach and captain, but with a much more experienced squad bolstered by new additions.

The most eagerly awaited match of the evening, also due to the many new faces on court, will be the one at 22:00 at the Multieventi between Juvenes Dogana and La Fiorita. The only indoor match of the night features important signings on both sides with senior national team experience, including Andrea Ercolani. For the new La Fiorita pivot, this marks a return to our league after his spell at Rimini.

Matchday one will then continue on Tuesday 15 September at 22:00, at the Acquaviva sports hall, with Pennarossa v Domagnano. The Biancorossi head into the season with major ambitions and some very experienced additions such as Danilo Busignani and goalkeeper Protti. It is a squad aiming to be among the protagonists and to push through to the final stages of the competition. Domagnano, on the other hand, focus on continuity, with very few changes compared to last season, relying on already well-established patterns and automatisms.

Bringing the first matchday officially to a close will be, on Thursday 17 September at 22:00, again at the Acquaviva sports hall, the clash between Fiorentino and Tre Fiori. It is the Fiorentino derby, with two teams that have embarked on new paths and therefore approach the championship with significantly overhauled squads. It will be a match full of unknowns that will round off an opening matchday marked by numerous changes and several teams required to quickly establish their own playing identity.

The countdown is over, the Campionato Sammarinese di Futsal is ready to kick off again.
