FIFA: Arrigoni and Zafferani at the Technical Leadership Introductory Workshop
The FSGC General Secretary Luigi Zafferani and Technical Coordinator Daniele Arrigoni took part in the workshop organised by FIFA in Budapest from 20 to 23 October, dedicated to technical leadership. It was an introductory course, yet highly qualitative and detailed, primarily designed for the development of high-level Technical Directors. The Hungarian workshop began precisely from the responsibilities of this key role within organisational structures, which naturally could not overlook aspects closely linked to federation strategies: in this regard, defining priorities and identifying challenges – acting in terms of influence and even persuasion – are closely intertwined.
The second day returned to the themes of strategic thinking, also addressing the pressing issue of relations with all the stakeholders with whom every Technical Director is required to engage – both within and outside the member association in which they operate. The development of solutions to these challenges – the final sharing point of the day – followed as a natural outcome. There were, of course, group work sessions and discussions – scheduled mainly for the third of the four workshop days. The final day, opened by a detailed presentation of the FIFA Forward programme linked to women’s football, once again focused on elements of strategic planning and the consolidation of learning.
