Futsal: big and valuable wins for Murata and Juvenes-Dogana
On Matchday 26 of the Campionato Sammarinese di Futsal, played in full last night, Juvenes-Dogana took advantage of Virtus’ slip-up against leaders Fiorentino to climb to sixth place. Levani’s side recorded a comprehensive win over Faetano, leapfrogging the Neroverdi from Acquaviva. The Serravalle club ran out 9-0 winners in a one-sided contest: three goals in the first half from Nicolò Gianni, William Cavalli and Simone Chezzi, followed by six more after the break (Bologna and Quaranta adding their names to the scoresheet alongside Chezzi and Cavalli, both of whom completed hat-tricks).
At the top, as mentioned, Fiorentino did not slip up and wrapped up the Virtus clash with four first-half goals. The reigning champions scored through Danilo Busignani (brace), Luca Zafferani and Andrea Ceccoli. Thanks to that four-goal haul, Michelotti’s team remain at the summit of the table with a four-point lead over Folgore. The Giallorossoneri kept pace with their title rivals thanks to a massive win, dishing out a 14-0 thrashing to Pennarossa. On target in the rout were Tassitano (four goals), Morri (three), Chezzi (two), Volpinari (two) and Pellegrini. It was an evening to forget for the Biancorossi, who also had to contend with two unfortunate own goals by Federico Rosa.
Tre Fiori also claimed victory – for the sixth time in a row, staying third thanks to a 6-0 success over Tre Penne. The Burioni brothers opened the scoring, and after the break the Gialloblu extended their lead through Marcello Morini, Samuel Toccaceli and a brace from Thomas Crescentini. Murata made the most of La Fiorita’s rest day, comfortably beating Cailungo: the Bianconeri duly celebrated and moved up to fourth place. Cellarosi’s side made no mistake on the Acquaviva gym court, cruising to a 9-0 victory. The ever-reliable Matteo Moretti scored three, with doubles from Matias Ghiotti and Pasquale Rizzo and further goals from Nicola Albani and Manuel Rossini. Libertas also returned to winning ways: the Granata overcame San Giovanni with a clear-cut 5-0. The match started badly for the Rossoneri, who on 12 minutes saw goalkeeper Lorenzo Agostini sent off. Penserini’s side broke the deadlock in the 16th minute through Michele Zanotti, then the other four goals arrived in the closing stages: braces from Alex Stefanelli and Gabriele Taddei sparked celebrations for the Borgo Maggiore club, who remain in a comfortable tenth place.
In terms of the playoff race, Cosmos picked up a valuable point against Domagnano in the only draw – a goalless one – of the evening. The Gialloverdi remain twelfth – the last position valid for the post season – with a four-point cushion over Cailungo, thus putting an end to a long points drought that had lasted six rounds. The Giallorossi, for their part, stay eighth and are now certain of their playoff berth.
