Futsal: Cailungo clinch play-offs, Folgore stun La Fiorita

The penultimate matchday of the Campionato Sammarinese di Futsal kicked off yesterday with fixtures that slightly reshaped the table, delivered a few verdicts and produced some surprises, including unexpected wins for Folgore and Libertas.

Fourth place is still up for grabs for Virtus despite their win over Domagnano, a clear 3-1. The Neroverdi start strongly and put the game on track in the opening minutes with quick-fire goals from Biordi on 11 minutes and Bernardi on 13. Bernardi then completes his brace in the second minute of first-half stoppage time, effectively sealing the points. After the restart the Giallorossi try to respond with a goal from Gatti on 44 minutes, but Virtus manage their lead well until the final whistle and take home three crucial points.

Flawless performance from Folgore, who upset La Fiorita – third in the table – with a 2-0 victory. The Giallorossoneri strike twice in four minutes: Casali breaks the deadlock on 22 minutes, followed by Bacciocchi’s second on 26. La Fiorita fail to react and the three points go to Folgore, who keep the pressure on Tre Fiori – in action tonight – and hold Juvenes-Dogana at arm’s length.

Another fiery clash in Domagnano between Juvenes-Dogana and Cailungo. The Rossoverdi take an early lead after just three minutes through Rossini, but the Biancorossoblu turn it around with a brace from Thomas Celli (23’ and 27’) and a goal from Simone Celli on 32 minutes. In the second half, an own goal by Mazza gives Cailungo hope, only for it to be snuffed out by another own goal, this time from Moroni, which closes the game at 4-2. Despite the defeat, Venerucci’s side mathematically secure the last available play-off spot.

Fiorentino and San Giovanni faced off on the Fiorentino court. The Rossoblu immediately went ahead through Paoloni on 6 minutes, then Morri doubled the lead on 31. The Rossoneri react at once with two quick goals: Agostini on 34 minutes and Berardi on 36 to make it 2-2. But Galli’s team are not rattled: Paoloni completes his brace on 38 minutes, and Morri extends the lead again on 47. Severi’s goal keeps the result in the balance right to the end, but the three points stay with Fiorentino.

Libertas return to winning ways, ending a drought that had lasted four months. In Dogana the Granata beat Faetano 4-3 in a thriller. The Gialloblu go 2-0 up thanks to El Attar on 2 minutes and Caruso on 18. Right at the end of the first half, however, Giovagnoli pulls one back and reignites Libertas hopes. After the break, in just ten minutes, Palermino’s men score three times: Tamagnini levels, Tonini completes the comeback and Giovagnoli makes it 4-2. Despite Moroni’s sending-off, Libertas cannot add to their lead. Faetano close the gap through Guidi on 60 minutes, but it is not enough. The Granata thus claim their second win of the season.

A reminder of tonight’s fixture between Tre Fiori and Tre Penne, which will be played at the Multieventi in Serravalle at 21:45. At the same time tomorrow, Pennarossa and Cosmos will meet at the Acquaviva Sports Hall in the final match of Matchday 29.
