Futsal Champions League: Fiorentino head to Cyprus and cross paths with Futsal Minerva again

The meetings between San Marino clubs and Futsal Minerva on the European stage have now become a regular fixture. For the third year running, the reigning champions of San Marino have been drawn in the same group as the Swiss side in the UEFA Futsal Champions League. The draw for the Preliminary Round took place early this afternoon: Fiorentino were placed in Group G alongside Yerevan Futsal Club, AEL Limassol and, once again, Futsal Minerva. This “tradition” began two years ago with Fiorentino, continued last summer with Folgore and has been renewed once more in this edition of the continental competition, with Fiorentino again flying the flag for San Marino futsal. Unlike on the previous two occasions, however, the Swiss team will not be the hosts. Matteo Michelotti and his players will be in action in Cyprus, home of AEL Limassol, in the window from 22 to 27 August. Also in the group are the Armenian champions, Yerevan Futsal Club. The group winners from each of the eight sections, together with the best runner-up overall, will advance to the next round.
