Futsal: crazy derby between San Giovanni and Cailungo, first win for Juvenes-Dogana

La Fiorita continue their climb by claiming the scalp of Pennarossa (beaten for the first time) and leapfrogging in one go both the Chiesanuova side and Folgore. After a goalless first half, Traviglia’s Gialloblù break the deadlock through Simone Chezzi, who then doubles the lead on 52 minutes. After Pellegrini makes it 3-0, Gasperoni pulls one back from the penalty spot. Before the final whistle there is still time for Matteo Chezzi to sign off and for Cecchini to see red (second yellow). La Fiorita fly high (two wins from two) and so do Tre Penne and Virtus, both still firmly top of the single group with nine points from a possible nine. The third victim of Virtus are Folgore, swept aside 6-1: goals for the Neroverde from Di Maio (hat-trick), Pasqualini, Stolfi and Pazzaglia, with Bacciocchi netting the Giallorossoneri consolation. Folgore thus suffer their first league setback, while Virtus record a second consecutive 6-1 following the one against Tre Fiori. Tre Penne, for their part, improve on their last outing: after the 3-1 over Juvenes-Dogana they now defeat Faetano 5-1. Faetano actually strike first, after just 3 minutes, through Michele Moroni, but are then forced to surrender to the relentless waves from Città. Gamba levels on 6 minutes, Cola makes it 2-1 from the spot and then Dinatale takes over, scoring a brace with Sabatino’s strike in between. Juvenes-Dogana claim their first league victory, overwhelming Libertas 6-2 at the Multieventi. Simone Celli and Cavalli make it 2-0 to the Biancorossoazzurri inside 9 minutes. Libertas immediately reduce the deficit through Zaghini and then, late in the first half, wipe it out completely thanks to an own goal by goalkeeper Cecchetti. After the break Thomas Celli restores Juvenes-Dogana’s lead, which this time is protected by three further goals, scored by Fiorenzo Marinelli, Cavalli and Simone Celli respectively. Libertas remain stuck on zero, as do Faetano and Cosmos, who lose by the narrowest of margins to Domagnano. This time there is no comeback suffered by the Wolves, who open the scoring in the first half through Righi and double their lead midway through the second with Capone. Cosmos’ reply comes too late, as Molinas scores from a 10-metre free-kick virtually at the end of the two minutes of added time. Domagnano continue to march in step with Murata, emphatic winners over Tre Fiori. The Gialloblù are forced to register a second defeat on the bounce. And Pollini’s men’s strong reaction in the first half is not enough after Murata had gone 2-0 up thanks entirely to Busignani. Goals from Tamagnini and Maiani make it all square at the break, but in the second half Busignani completes his hat-trick and is then joined on the scoresheet by Belloni and Ghiotti for a 5-2 final. The award for the most explosive match of the entire Monday programme unquestionably goes to the derby between Cailungo and San Giovanni. The script is almost cinematic: after 16 minutes San Giovanni are 3-0 up thanks to goals from Rossi, Zonzini and Volpinari. Vitillo immediately pulls one back, but Cailungo are still two down at the change of ends. The scoreline remains unchanged until midway through the second half; then something clicks for Venerucci’s players: Flammini makes it 3-2 and then, after a handball by Volpinari which earns him a straight red, converts the resulting penalty for 3-3. It’s the 57th minute and shortly afterwards Venerucci himself is sent off for a second yellow of the evening. No matter for Cailungo, who, with the game almost over, manage to land the very last blow through Rossini – the one worth all three points.
