Futsal: final trio of league fixtures, post-season dates confirmed
The San Marino Futsal Championship has entered its home straight, in which the final questions will be settled regarding the positions of the twelve teams that will reach the play-offs. San Giovanni and Faetano are already out of contention and will face Folgore and Cosmos respectively. Both matches are scheduled for 20:15 tomorrow and will be played in Dogana and Acquaviva. It is at the latter venue that Murata will close out the day’s programme, facing Libertas as they look to keep alive their bid for third place. Tre Fiori, meanwhile, will be in action in Fiorentino, where they will meet Pennarossa in the first match of the evening. The Biancorossi still have to mathematically secure their play-off spot, but their five-point lead over Cailungo with three games remaining represents a strong cushion for Casadei’s side. Their only remaining rival will also take to the pitch in Fiorentino, where at 21:45 they will face Virtus. The standout fixture on Monday is undoubtedly La Fiorita-Juvenes-Dogana. The Montegiardino club will play their first official match after the break, following last Thursday’s postponements. Juvenes-Dogana, for their part, are dreaming of drawing level with the fifth-placed side – namely their next opponents. Scheduled for Wednesday is the indoor clash between Domagnano and Fiorentino. The league leaders, without the suspended Busignani, are eager to return to winning ways after being held to a draw by Murata in their last league outing. The match will be played at the Multieventi, with kick-off at 21:45 on Wednesday 24 April.

The dates have been set for the rescheduled matches after the two games postponed last Thursday due to the heavy hailstorm that hit the upper part of San Marino. These fixtures are anything but secondary in determining the positions at the top of the table. Folgore-Tre Fiori has been rearranged for 25 April in Fiorentino (21:15), while league leaders Fiorentino will be back in action as early as Friday to face La Fiorita. That match will be played in Dogana, with kick-off at 21:15. The FSGC has meanwhile confirmed the dates on which the San Marino futsal trophies will be awarded, as well as the play-off schedule – which will determine the champions of San Marino. The first title up for grabs will be the Titano Futsal Cup, with the final to be played on 8 May. The outcome of the semi-finals is still pending, with the second legs scheduled for 2 May. Fiorentino will approach the return match with La Fiorita with the comfort of the 4-0 win achieved in the first leg, while Folgore-Tre Fiori will resume from the 3-3 draw recorded in the match played on 20 March. The teams finishing in the top four places at the end of the regular season will earn direct qualification for the quarter-finals. The next eight sides, placed between fifth and twelfth, will instead have to come through a two-legged preliminary round, scheduled for the evenings of 13 and 16 May. The pairings will not be random but based on league performance: the fifth-placed team will face the twelfth, and so on, down to the tie involving eighth versus ninth. Should complete parity remain after both legs, the team with the higher position in the regular season table will advance to the next round. This rule will apply to all phases except the finals. In the quarter-final pairings, the regular-season winners will be matched with the lowest-ranked side – among those coming through the preliminary round. The same criteria will be used to form the remaining ties, while the bracket will be structured so that the top two from the regular season cannot meet before a potential final. The title will be decided on Wednesday 5 June 2024. Venues and kick-off times will be announced in the coming weeks.
