Futsal: finals week kicks off with Tre Penne v Pennarossa
While we wait for the clash that will award the San Marino futsal Scudetto – once again a private affair between Murata and Virtus – the Multieventi Sport Domus is ready to light up for what is commonly known as the “third-place final”, namely the match that decides third and fourth place. Facing off on Monday evening at 20:45 will be the two sides defeated in the semi-finals: Pennarossa and Tre Penne. The Biancorossi were aiming at least to match their heavy presence in the finals of the 2025 calendar year. Instead, they stopped at the semi-finals of both the Futsal Cup and the league, and now intend to close out their season with a third-place finish which, if not exactly a consolation, would still be a more than respectable outcome. The same target is shared by Tre Penne, who this year have managed to improve on last season (when they were knocked out in the quarter-finals of the competition) and who would certainly not mind confirming their progress with a placing only slightly below that of the two teams who have monopolised the 2026 grand finals. In the excellent regular season put together by Penserini’s team, the overall record in the two meetings with Pennarossa is positive: a 3-2 win in the first leg and a 2-2 draw in the return fixture.
The third-place play-off, just like the grand final on 3 June, will go to extra time and penalties if the scores are level.
