Futsal: Fiorentino cruise, Folgore run riot, Murata fight back
Fiorentino continue their perfect run, recording yet another win to remain alone at the top of the Campionato Sammarinese di futsal. On Matchday 13 – the first round of 2024 – Michelotti’s men claimed their twelfth win in as many games with a 6-1 victory over Domagnano. The Giallorossi, coming off two good wins, tried to upset the reigning champions by taking an early lead through the inevitable Capone – his 13th goal of the season – but Busignani immediately levelled. The Rossoblù then hit the front thanks to Cevoli and Ceccoli, going into the break two goals to the good. In the second half they controlled proceedings and stretched their lead with goals at the start and at the death from sharpshooter Busignani (a hat-trick for him, and now leading scorer on 25 goals). In between, there was also glory for goalkeeper Protti, who made it onto the scoresheet on the night.
Behind Fiorentino, Folgore keep up the chase and "run riot" against San Giovanni: Claudio Zonzini’s side ran out with a stunning 18-0 win over the Rossoneri. It was essentially one-way traffic, with six goals before the break and another 12 in the second half. There were plenty of different scorers: a hat-trick for Tassitano; braces for Chezzi, Volpinari, Bernardi, Giardi and Ercolani; and goals for Biordi, Giacobbi and goalkeeper Geri. With this emphatic victory, the Giallorossoneri are now the league’s top scorers (71 goals in total) and remain second, five points off the summit.
Three points further back from Folgore sit La Fiorita and Tre Fiori, level on points. The Montegiardino club were held by Juvenes-Dogana last night at the end of a very balanced contest that hung in the balance right to the last. It was the Serravalle side who broke the deadlock through Zonzini, but Danny Gasperoni equalised. After the restart, Chezzi put Juvenes-Dogana back in front, but Bernardi and Giuccioli turned the game around within a few minutes. However, in the closing stages Borasco silenced the Gialloblù with his goal in the 58th minute.
Taking advantage of that draw – the only one of the evening – were Tre Fiori, who got the job done against Pennarossa and drew level with La Fiorita in the table. Marco Baldani gave Casadei’s Biancorossi the lead, but Tre Fiori roared back and completed the comeback before half-time thanks to goals from Morini, Lorenzo Burioni and Esposito. After the interval the pattern did not change, and Bugli’s Gialloblù widened the gap with further strikes from Burioni and Morini, plus goals from Daniel and Michele Casadei to seal a 7-1 scoreline.
Murata also claimed victory, their third in a row, after a thrilling head‑to‑head with Libertas. Penserini’s Granata flew out of the blocks and went 2-0 up through Davide Rossi and Mazza. Moretti pulled one back for Murata, but Nicholas Cola restored the two-goal cushion. Before the break, Moretti struck again to make it 3-2. In the second half Libertas scored twice more through Francesco Rossi and Giuseppe Covi, moving 5-2 ahead. Murata, though, refused to give in and began their comeback: El Attar, new signing Belloni and Moretti all scored in quick succession to bring the game back level. On 51 minutes, the winning goal again came from former Fiorentino man Moretti, who netted his fourth of the night to send his side into raptures.
In the upper reaches of the table, Virtus also won, beating Cailungo 7-2 and overtaking Domagnano to move into sixth place on 22 points. Pollini’s Neroverdi went two goals up through Zamboni and Aruci, before Cailungo reacted thanks to Moroni and Serafini, who made it 2-2. Virtus hit back, and before half-time they were ahead again through a Sammaritani own goal and another from Zamboni. In the second half, the gap widened further thanks to goals from Sensoli, Tamagnini and Aruci again.
The matchday will conclude tomorrow with the clash on the Multieventi court between Cosmos and Faetano, scheduled for 21:45.
