Futsal: Fiorentino win to go clear at the top
Yet another clash between Fiorentino and Folgore – counting for the fifth matchday of the Campionato Sammarinese di futsal – this time goes the way of the Rossoblu, who partially avenge their Supercoppa defeat last September and, thanks to this win, move clear at the top of the table. Michelotti’s side broke the deadlock in the first half through Danilo Busignani, on target in every league game played so far and now leading the scoring charts with nine goals. Claudio Zonzini’s Folgore, however, stayed in the game and in the second half found the equaliser through Thomas Pellegrini. Fiorentino’s response was immediate and the winning goal came from Lorenzo Cevoli: a flying start for the San Marino international as well who, like his team-mate Busignani, has found the net in every league outing so far and tops the scorers’ table alongside Busignani himself and former Rossoblu player Matteo Moretti (now at Murata).
With Fiorentino now leading the way with a perfect record of 15 points, four teams follow on 12: Folgore, La Fiorita, Murata and Virtus. Thanks to a resounding 12-1 victory, the Gialloblu from Montegiardino sweep aside Faetano and become the league’s most prolific attack. Seven different scorers, five goals in the first half and another seven in the second: on target for Gianni Galli’s Gialloblu were Giacomo Bernardi (3), Nicolò Mariotti (3), Danny Gasperoni (2), Jacopo Giuccioli, Lorenzo Paesini, Andrea Cappelli and Andrea Franciosi. It was a night to forget for Gualtieri’s Faetano, who scored a consolation at 58' through Gian Luca Giusti but had earlier gone down to ten men with the dismissal of Michele Moroni on 53'.
After losing to Folgore in the previous round, Murata immediately bounce back strongly, overcoming Juvenes-Dogana 4-2. Cellarosi’s side opened the scoring on 26' with Andrea Capicchioni, then struck twice in first-half added time through the ever-reliable Matteo Moretti and Thomas Felici to send the Bianconeri in at the break 3-0 up. After the restart Murata kept their foot on the gas and made it four thanks to Andrea Paoletti. Roberto Levani’s men then tried to get back into it through Alberto Bologna (49'). The sending-off of Omar El Attar on 58' caused some late jitters for Murata, who conceded a second in added time to Federico Mularoni. But it was too late for Juvenes-Dogana, who thus suffer their first defeat of the league campaign.
A fourth consecutive win for Luca Pollini’s Virtus, who got the better of Pennarossa in Fiorentino. After a balanced first half that ended goalless, it was Denis Aruci who broke the deadlock, making it 1-0 on 38'. That goal gave the Neroverdi the right spark and they doubled their lead shortly afterwards through Francesco Tamburrano. Pennarossa replied via Tiziano Selva (57') but, in the closing stages, Aruci wrapped it up with two more goals (a hat-trick for him), sealing a 4-1 success. It is a third straight defeat for Mattia Casadei’s side, who remain stuck on 3 points.
A big win too for Tre Fiori, who put behind them in the best possible way the derby loss to Fiorentino suffered in the previous round. Alex Bugli’s team hand out a commanding 10-0 defeat to San Giovanni and climb to nine points. It was one-way traffic from the very first exchanges, with Lorenzo Burioni opening the scoring before Marcello Morini struck twice in quick succession. The club from Fiorentino did not let up in the first half and stretched the gap with goals from Thomas Crescentini and a brace from Alessandro Esposito to go in 6-0 up at the interval. After the break the pattern did not change and other “performers” joined the scoresheet: Michele Casadei and Paolo Verri added to the tally, while Esposito and Burioni both scored again to take it into double figures. There was nothing doing for Elmiro Corbelli’s Rossoneri, still rooted to the bottom of the group with no points to their name.
Tre Penne seem to have found their rhythm after a difficult start to the season, having now recorded back-to-back wins. The latest came last night against Cosmos: Davide Ghiotti’s Biancazzurri ran out 5-1 winners over a Cosmos side who have failed to pick up a point in four rounds. The first half was evenly contested, aside from Salles’ goal that put Tre Penne in front. After the restart the Città club cut loose, scoring four more thanks to a superb Alessandro Benedettini (hat-trick) and Alessandro Ercolani. Lorenzo Bacciocchi’s goal for the Gialloverdi proved in vain. Tre Penne move up to six points, while Cosmos remain stuck on three.
The fifth matchday of the Campionato Sammarinese di futsal will conclude with Libertas-Domagnano, scheduled for Thursday evening at 21:45 at the Acquaviva sports hall. Both sides come into the game on the back of three consecutive defeats and will be desperate for points to lift the spirits in their respective camps.
