Futsal: Fiorita back in front, Cosmos claim a precious win

La Fiorita need little more than a week to “avenge” the defeat suffered at the hands of Virtus. The Montegiardino side beat Juvenes-Dogana 2-0 and, taking advantage of the Neroverdi’s simultaneous loss to Folgore, reclaim the fourth place that Acquaviva had taken from them. In Dogana it takes Ghiotti’s team just 2 minutes to go in front: Franciosi breaks the deadlock, while in the second half it’s Giuccioli who gives Juvenes-Dogana a margin they can’t close, leaving them unable to respond and slipping further away in the table from the pack battling for the play-off spots. Indeed, Domagnano pull 4 points clear of the Biancorossoazzurri thanks to a comprehensive win over Faetano. Filippo Dolcini opens the scoring after 12 minutes; then Menghi, Santarini and Morri complete the four-goal haul before the interval. After the restart Villa makes it five for the Giallorossi, while the final seals on the Wolves’ victory are applied by Menghi from the spot and, just before the final whistle, Davide Dolcini. With these three points, Mussoni’s team close the gap on Virtus; Faetano, on the other hand, slip to a second consecutive defeat and remain second from bottom, just ahead of Cailungo, who will have to wait to play their match against Pennarossa, as a problem at the Domagnano facility led to the postponement of last night’s scheduled clash between the Rossoverdi and the Biancorossi. As for Virtus, after two wins in a row they fall in their meeting with Folgore, who go ahead after 13 minutes through Pasqualini and are pegged back midway through the second half by Paolo Casadei; Righi’s sixth foul brings a second yellow card and sends Bernardi to the 10-metre mark, but the captain wastes the opportunity. Virtus are still down to four men, though, and Giardi takes full advantage, restoring the lead for the Giallorossoneri, which is soon strengthened by Bernardi himself. Spada’s side therefore stay level on points with the other leaders, Fiorentino, although the gap widens in terms of goal difference. In fact, the Rossoblù produce another monstrous scoreline at the expense of an unfortunate Libertas. They first concede on 3 minutes from a Busignani penalty – the Michelotti universal will then strike four more times, ending up with exactly half of his team’s goals on the night in Dogana. The 10-0 also features an own goal by Covi, a brace from Cevoli and goals from Moretti and Gasperoni. Adding to Penserini’s woes is the dismissal of Francesco Rossi for a second yellow card. Further down the table, Cosmos confirm their good form by racking up a second consecutive victory. One that carries huge weight if we consider that their opponents on the night were direct rivals, namely Murata who, like the Gialloverdi and many others, are caught up in the tight battle to avoid the bottom three places. And it is Cellarosi’s team who take the initial lead: it happens right at the start of the second half, with Della Valle on target. Righi needs only a few minutes to level; and it will be the same number 22 in yellow and green, a little later, who gives Muccioli’s side a win that allows them to pull away from the group stuck on 13 points and to overtake Murata themselves, moving, for the moment, into much calmer waters. Two wins in a row as well for Tre Fiori, who comfortably beat Tre Penne, also helped by two own goals from Conti and Amati. Among the “active” scorers, Verri’s hat-trick stands out, with Mariotti (brace) and Ferrenti also on the scoresheet. For Tre Penne, Contato briefly made it 6-1.
