Futsal: head-to-head clashes in the league after the break
After the break for San Marino’s National Team commitments in Futsal EURO 2026 qualifying, the Campionato Sammarinese di futsal returns. There are four games left in the regular season, three for those who still have to serve their rest round – which tomorrow will be San Giovanni, already out of the play-off picture. In this respect, the upcoming fixture against Domagnano is perhaps last chance saloon for Cailungo, who trail by five points from twelfth place, currently occupied by Pennarossa. The Biancorossi will face Libertas in the only indoor match of the day, with the latter embroiled in a three-way battle for eighth place with Domagnano and Tre Penne. At the moment, the Granata are behind in the pecking order, but the Biancazzurri still have to observe their scheduled rest round.
Favourites on paper, Tre Penne will take on Faetano on the Domagnano artificial pitch at 21:45 – a match for which the two San Marino FIFA futsal referees, D’Adamo and Ilie, have been appointed. At the same time, but in Dogana, it will be Cosmos v Murata. The Bianconeri released three players to the National Team last weekend and Cellarosi will need to assess the conditions of Belloni, Mattioli and Moretti – and, if necessary, manage their workloads. The top-versus-bottom clash looming with Faetano works in their favour, also considering that Murata are in the hunt for third place together with Tre Fiori and La Fiorita.
In this regard, the fixture list throws up the two most difficult challenges for the gialloblù sides. Both playing on the Fiorentino artificial pitch, they will have to face the top two in the table. Separated by just two points, but with chasing Folgore having played one game more, they are called to a play-off dress rehearsal. Michelotti’s Fiorentino is the team that supplied the most players to the National Team – as many as five of the fourteen called up. For La Fiorita, who have welcomed back Franciosi from the trip to Austria, this could be an extra weapon in the 20:15 kick-off. Afterwards it will be Folgore v Tre Fiori: the Falciano club are chasing a victory that would secure second place, also bearing in mind the rest round they still have to take. On the other hand, Bugli’s men will try to reopen the race, spurred on by the strong resurgence of Murata and La Fiorita right behind them.
Also intriguing is the first game scheduled in Dogana, where Virtus will play their remaining chances of catching sixth place in the head-to-head with Juvenes-Dogana. Levani’s men can count on a healthy four-point advantage in the standings, which the Neroverdi want to challenge, also thanks to a more favourable run-in. A win tomorrow night, however, will be essential to keep alive the ambitions of Pollini’s team.
