Futsal: high-altitude clash between Pennarossa and La Fiorita, postseason points in the late fixture

Having kept hold of top spot after a stunning comeback against Pennarossa, Murata are now counting on the Biancorossi themselves to help consolidate their lead in the regular season. The Chiesanuova club, in fact, will be up against La Fiorita. The latter, who have already had their rest round, enjoy a two-point advantage over their next opponents who – together with Virtus – are the only genuine rivals in the race for the top two positions in the table, the real target for the regular season. With Pellegrini unavailable, Traviglia’s side will have to contend with a Pennarossa team that, even against juggernaut Murata, showed they have what it takes to go for the title. In short, a genuine big match to be played in Dogana tomorrow evening, with kick-off at 21:45. Some Murata players and officials, involved in the earlier game on the same artificial surface, will likely stay on to watch the encounter. Tre Fiori await the Bianconeri, in a match that on paper favours former coach Massimiliano Spada, at least in terms of the pre-match predictions. The only match in Domagnano, scheduled for 21:15, will see Juvenes-Dogana take on Libertas. It is one of the last calls for the Granata, bottom of the table with three points from fifteen outings. Twelfth place is not only six points away, but even by winning all direct clashes with the three teams immediately above them, Libertas might still fall short of reaching the postseason. In other words, no room for error – especially against sides in the lower half of the table. In Fiorentino at 20:15 it’s Virtus v Folgore. The Neroverdi are on a run of four straight wins and are seeking further confirmation against a Folgore side whose performances have been inconsistent. Four points from the last five games for the runners-up of San Marino, who now face a serious contender for the title who – helped by the direct clashes involving the teams above them – do not want to miss the chance to close the gap in the standings. Afterwards, still in Fiorentino, Cosmos v Domagnano is on the schedule. It’s a maturity test for the Gialloverdi, protagonists of a positive season so far, marked by consistency and enviable solidity. What Muccioli’s men are missing is the final step – the one that could have turned the three draws from their last five matches into three wins. On the other side, Domagnano – despite an attack that is not exactly free-scoring (roughly two goals per game on average) – have built their league position on defensive resilience and an ability to make the most of their chances, as seen in their recent narrow victory over Cailungo. Venerucci’s Rossoverdi, who had tasted a positive result against a high-ranking side, have licked their wounds and turned their thoughts to Wednesday’s derby with San Giovanni. At the Multieventi, with kick-off at 21:45, there will be crucial points up for grabs in the race for twelfth place. Currently outside the postseason, both teams are chasing a win which – if Faetano fail to take all three points – would secure them a place in the sun. There will also be action at the Multieventi tomorrow, with Faetano themselves lacing up their indoor shoes; their opponents will be Tre Penne, in excellent form over the past month: ten points from five matches for Penserini’s side, bettered only by Murata in that period.
