Futsal: Pennarossa sink Virtus in the only game on a knife edge

The seventh matchday of the San Marino Futsal Championship was played in full last night, and it sees Murata move to the top at the expense of Virtus. The Bianconeri sweep aside Domagnano, coming close to hitting double figures. Mattioli breaks the deadlock halfway through the first half, while Busignani, Belloni and Ercolani all strike in the closing minutes before the interval. After the restart, former Domagnano man Belloni scores twice more, with Ercolani and Busignani also celebrating braces. In between comes Littera’s strike to complete the 9-0 scoreline. The league-leading Virtus slip up in Dogana against Pennarossa. Undefeated until then, Michelotti’s side overturn Stefanelli’s early opener thanks to Stolfi and an own goal by Carlini. The Biancorossi’s strong reaction paves the way for a 3-2 success, sealed by Gasperoni and Verri. The win allows the Chiesanuova club to draw level with Domagnano in third place and to remain three points behind Murata. Just below Novembrini’s team sit La Fiorita and Tre Penne – both emphatic winners. Seven goals apiece for Traviglia’s and Penserini’s sides, who sweep past the obstacles represented by Tre Fiori and Cailungo. The Biancazzurri bag doubles through Beinat, Cola and Sabatino – along with a goal from Gamba. Venerucci’s men had briefly halved the deficit through Rossini on 10 minutes. La Fiorita had already put the points on ice when Tre Fiori found the net. It was 3-0 at half-time, courtesy of a Giuccioli brace and a goal from Matteo Chezzi. Podeschi gave the Fiorentino club hope, but they were soon back under pressure from Giuccioli – who would finish with four goals – and Simone Chezzi, who scored twice. Maiani and Lonfernini make the scoreline a little more respectable, but not the substance of a defeat that sees Tre Fiori slip to twelfth place. Vacating that position are Cosmos, who hit San Giovanni for eleven. It was a night to remember for Bacciocchi and Molinas, both netting hat-tricks, as well as for Cerquetti (brace), Giglietti, Guerra and Dominici – all on the scoresheet, along with Simone Rossi for the Rossoneri. Fiorentino bounce back, returning to winning ways after back-to-back defeats. The final 10-0 scoreline with which Galli’s Rossoblù overpowered Libertas leaves no room for doubt. Bernardi’s hat-trick, doubles from Gasperoni and Felici, and goals from Deluigi, Serra and Casadei enable Fiorentino to draw level with Juvenes-Dogana – who had a rest day – on seven points in the table. Three points better off are Folgore, who took advantage of a strong start to steer their clash with Faetano. Bacciocchi’s early brace was added to after the break, while Podeschi made it three at the 2nd minute of the second half. Faetano showed some pride through Matteo Zafferani three minutes later, but Pelliccioni wrapped things up at 4-1.
